I understand where you're coming from - if you thought that Liz Rose (and in turn, the Gaming Commission) was "stating" that you would get a payout from BetPanAm, then I can partially see why you wouldn't have signed Roberto's proxy (you didn't want to jeopardize what you perceived to be a "sure thing" for a partial payment).
But to use a gambling term, the "Sharp" money seemed to be on signing the proxy over to Roberto. Especially if you realized that the only reason that you probably were getting any responses from Chester and Liz Rose, was because they knew that Roberto was coming to town the following week.
And while you may not fit into this group, there seem to be several people who were trying to back both horses in the race: they didn't want to jeopardize a presumed partial payment from BetPanam by signing Roberto's proxy, yet expected to reap full benefits from Roberto's efforts. Sometimes you need to look at all the info, and back the right horse.
But after all is said and done, it's important to remember that BetPanam is the bad guy here. They need to pay everyone.
