2020 gave us:

Non taxable EIDL Grants
Non taxable PPP loans (most were forgiven)
2 different stimulus payments

2021 gave us:
a 3rd stimulus check
If you underpaid your marketplace insurance, you didnt have to pay it back on your tax return
EIDL loans for your business at a 3.5% rate (which eventually a portion could be forgiven)

I know I am missing a few more but this came to mind

Free money is pretty cool but its another reason why I'm not shocked why everything costs a little more these days

I'm assuming he received PPP and EIDL monies in 2020.

We were told to apply for this ASAP and there were too many uncertainities, so many of us applied whether we needed it or not.

Many businesses were able to pay their employees with these monies.

Some businesses didnt skip a beat during the pandemic so this was literally, free money.

The small business owner who applied for this honestly did NOTHING wrong

slippery slope , they made their call and have added to it over the last 24 mths. Price to pay for all this. They will , understandebly need to increase taxation somewhere, (as decreasing spending is largely not an option, isnt the debt ceiling still off the table? )..go after the dead is an obvious target (estate taxes)....... the political drama to unfold and the blame game . Perhaps place SS on a sliding scale? would that be political suicide?

They keep raising Social Security taxable wages every year but a nice amount (something like 145k in 2022 but not exact)

I could see stepped us basis get "tweaked" somehow.

Possibly put a max on how much they can get stepped up basis for? 250k? 500k? 1 mil? 2 mil? 5 mil?

If we are here to "tax the rich", i would think it would have to be at least a million, right?

Yup , I see that happening with SS It's happened in my area lol . Pay into a system for nearly 30 yrs and then not get your full share because of years of govt incompetence ? Oh well

The path is clear for n America ; inflate . We r japan. We must learn from Jason and not have a contracting population. Gotta have kids and / or immigration . Inflating doesn't work on a contracting population .

Not sure if I'm supposed to be happy or sad. But happy us better, so that's my choice

Being sad sucks

Plus Uconn won today. Losing to St John's would have been an embarrassment. They made me work a lot more than I was expecting

PS: Pissing contests suck
