Houston was never quite the same after their dreams were crushed by Navy. They did have that one last gasp against L'ville, but failed to cover in 6 of their last 7 games. Seemed like they could only get up for games as an underdog against Okla and L'ville

Also the Favorite had covered 5 straight in the LV Bowl.

This thread was on the right track when it inquired whether Red Elephants was anywhere in the neighborhood (a damn good handicapper and one of the best if you follow NasCar). It went off track when we tried to figure out the difference between a "wise-ass" and a "smart-ass". I was never able to figure that out.
