Now this part threw me for a loop.
"...suspensions of a half dozen or more players is proof that the apocalypse they expected all along is underway." Huh?
Is that anything like Paul Wulff kicking several starting players off the team? More than that? Sometimes I just don't trust these HC's because the only people they will talk to are their buddies, press or what have you, off the record if anything at all. I agree that it's not good policy to let these things go unexplained because a lot of speculation over a kid's career is never a good thing for anyone including the kid. If he gets spanked for being a bad boy, go ahead and let the cat out of the bag and throw the ball back in his court so to speak. It will likely do him some good to confront his acts.
For a second there I thought Erickson was going to do some major house cleaning... in an apocalyptic sense as the writer put it. Heck, everyone's known about the rowdy types he recruits for ages. I was thinking (ASU AD) Lisa Love had a good talk with DE about it... perhaps? Or it's nothing.
I really don't know what to make of this so I'm going to make nothing of it until the roster starts changing to go along with whatever Erickson is up to. Could be just a bunch of sabre rattling to put a few marginal players on notice. A statement to the whole team if you will. I don't recall him putting his foot down even once in the past couple years over there. I could be wrong but nothing comes to mind.
