Washington brings back 13 starters off a team that went 4-9 last season. Will it be any better for Washington this year? No much, I'm afraid. The more I look at this team, the more problems I see for them. The only bright spots are QB Locker, the offensive line and the WR corps. This means the offense should be productive (although they would be a lot more productive if they had a decent RB to balance it out). The only thing is the defense was dismal last year and this year it will likely get worse as they basically replace the defensive line. They also draw an atrocious schedule. Oregon, BYU and Oklahoma to start out the year . . . . . . shit, I'd fire the offensive coordinator! I can't find any games for them to play on. I do think they might be a good team to play on OVERS though.

The dogs will be especially focused for the ND game to save their coach. If they do beat Notre Dame, TW will get blamed for losing to himself. Charlie Weiss walks. Someone has to make the Ty Willingam haters in South Bend just STFU. Keep an eye on the Irish because you KNOW for a FACT that TW will. This is getting to be personal.

Stanford

Let me just start this out by saying that I like the direction this team is going and I like Jim
Harbaugh. You have to admire a coach that shows no fear by mouthing off about Carroll and the
Trojans in last year's offseason, then takes his team to Los Angeles and backs up every word. The
guy has balls and it's rubbing off on his team (I know that doesn't sound right, but you understand
what I'm trying to say, lol). The only problem is, I don't see them winning more than one more
game than they did last season. But, they surprised me last year and they could do it again. they
have 16 starters returning and 46 lettermen. Whoever wins the QB position will likely have better
production than last year. The RB corps looks strong. The offensive line looks to be the best
Stanford has had in ages. The only weak spot will be the receivers. The defense last year was
young, so I expect them to be better this year with a year's experience. They bring back 9 starters
for the defense. Record-wise, I can't understand why Steele has Stanford behind Washington and
UCLA. I think he's wrong.

-- Stanford vs. Oregon State August 28th -- I don't think
this game is on ESPN, but I do like the fact that Harbaugh will have all fall to work up a
gameplan to take advantage of Oregon State's immediate defensive inexperience. There is also a
distinct possibility that stanford will be a short home doggie here in this game.
My prediction: Stanford wins 24-17.

-- Stanford vs. San Jose St September 20th -- There really
is no advantage in this game schedule-wise for either team. The advantage lies in the fact that
this game will be played at Stanford for the second year in a row. Last year Stanford won this
37-0. San Jose St will be better this year, but so will Stanford. My
prediction: Stanford wins 37-14.

-- Stanford vs. Washington St November 1st -- last year
WSU riddled the Stanford defense for 33 points in a 33-17 victory. This year, most of WSU's
offensive production graduated. Brink is gone as well as receivers Bumpus, Collins and Dillon.
WSU is certainly not known for their defense, so they are going to be definitely down.
My prediction: Stanford wins 42-13.

Washington State

There's not much to talk about here. Between Brink and all their productive WRs being gone, Washington St will not have a lot of hope offensively this year. Defensively they return 8, but that's off a defense that allowed their opponents over 420 total yards a game and 32 ppg average. I will not be playing on WSU this year and cannot recommend any games.

I can think of one game that may be a play on.

10-18-2008 Vs OSU

With a bye week proceeding this game be ready to pounce on a good line. In last years game, OSU safety Afalava put a helmet to helmet hit on Locker than ended up sending him to the hospital. Husky fans/players believed it to be a dirty hit. While it is somewhat debatable Afalava has done himself no favors by headhunting others in the conference.
Anyway, I know for a fact that coaches and players at UW have that game "circled".

So I take it they don't like Oregon teams up there in Washington? Whatever gets the adrenalin pumping I guess. So what else is new?

Aside from being a thorn in Cal's ass recently, I wonder where else the Beavers can win on the road this year?
