Was planning on taking Novak as a dog against Nadal, but Murray just outplayed him last night. Gasquet should have covered the handicap, but just seemed to get tired and Nadal took advantage and dominated set 2 and 3. Murray has been broken plenty or times in this tournament which worries me a bit because the most I see him breaking Nadal in this match is once or twice, but if he plays like he did against Novak he should easily cover this line and could possibly take the match.
Kiefer is just on top of his game right now. That performance against Blake was possibly the best single performance of this tournament. Just outstanding tennis. Simon had a long, tiring match against Cilic, not just because it went three sets, but because they often went into long games with deuce after deuce after deuce. He was lucky Cilic was off his game yesterday or else he'd be watching this match from the stands.

Going on vacation this week so won't be back posting picks until next Sunday. Probably won't be able to get a pick in tomorrow, but I would say pick Kiefer +5, assuming that's the number. Kiefer played him pretty tough at Wimbledon the first two rounds and this is Nadal's worst surface (even though he's in the finals). I wouldn't be surprised if Kiefer took a set, or at least took one to a tiebreak.
I'm happy with how July went and hope to continue the same way in August. I'll probably set up a new thread for August, but will keep a running record of coarse.
Cincinnati should be a good tournament, and we have a Simon/Kiefer rematch in the first round, with the winner facing Blake (you know he's praying for Simon). Look for Federer to win next week though, as I'd be willing to bet he's on top of his game and he has a fairly easy draw to the semis and again has Nadal and Novak on the opposite side of the bracket.
