my man Krist Noveslic said at the HOF ceremony last year she should be in.. good enough for him, good enough for me

He's a smart guy so....I'd lean towards agreeing with him/you. Krist was doing something interesting I thought....Is he a politician? A Revolutionary? or something like that? Whatever it was I know it surprised me and I was impressed...for some reason, like, struck me that he was trying to accomplish something positive. And that he was (is) smarter than most knew.

Rock and Roll HOF is a joke. To quote Johnny Rotten, the Hall is a "piss stain."

I was watching some documentary or some such thing and you know how they interview Experts?

Well here pops up Krist. As an expert, like, a learned dude on the matter (forget what it was).

I was blown away....recognized the name & thought "wtf?"

Subject matter totally nothing to do with music, completely like the guy has gone onto have a thoroughly separate and accomplished life after getting mega wealthy with Nirvana. Very Unique.

Johnny said that about almost everything though. He's very cynical.

Kind of agree with him when the Rock and Roll HOF puts Run DMC and Grandmaster Flash in. Look at the great artists that aren't even in, it's a joke. Jett got in because she's a woman in my opinion.

True Dat ^^^^^^^

But what does? That was among the Original Tracks that birthed a whole new style of music/artistry/vehicle of expression....how many songs bear that distinction?

To really bust this discussion open, the worthyness of Joan Jett into The Hall....

Firstly Congrats to Joanie, and as OP suggested, no disrespect to Joanie whatsoever rather just by way of "discussion" for perspective so as to maybe frame the question of the "validity" of this induction.

As Ms. Jett has made it in, lets consider who hasn't made it in and thus get some of that "perspective"...

A few of these who are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will blow some of your minds...

Which is the HUGEST injustice?

In your opinion?

Who need to be inducted NOW??

(Like, Special Ballot go in tomorrow by Noon?)

Badfinger, Motörhead, Deep Purple, Ozzy Osbourne, Cheap Trick, Slayer, Procul Harum, Thin Lizzy, Blue Oyster Cult, Pantera, Electric Light Orchestra, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, The Moody Blues, Todd Rundgren, T. Rex, Blind Faith, Yes....

The Steve Miller Band, King Crimson, Journey, Bad Company, The New York Dolls, Rainbow, Uriah Heap, Boston, Chicago, Supertramp, Styx, Stevie Nicks, REO Speedwagon, Grand Funk Railroad, FREE, BachmanTurnerOverdrive, Kansas....

The Dead Kennedys, Queensryche, Canned Heat, Kingston Trio, Ten Years After, Nazareth, Coven, Joe Satriani (15 Grammy Nominations), April Wine, Jefferson Starship, ToTo, Throbbing Gristle, Molly Hatchet (named after a psychotic prostitute)....Steve Vai
, Status Quo...

and because there will be at least one who will say why didn't I include them.....Motley Crue.

UFO.....The Scorpions.

Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, Jimmy Buffett, DJ Kool Herc, Kurtis Blow, Boogie Down Productions (BDP Posse) and N.W.A.

Sex Pistols apparently turned down induction.

Also not a fan of Joan Jett... but liked a couple of songs.

For those that believe she shouldn't be in the HOF, maybe you didn't know that she is listed as the 87th best/Greatest guitarists of all time
she has been called the Queen of Rock by many, and has 3 albums that have been certified Platinum or Gold

IMHO, I believe, like others she got in because of being a women... and for being a True Rock and Roll, hard core Rocker

She is a more deserving inductee than some of us knew lol. I did not realize....87th in the World on Guitar + been rockin' out ("In public" at least) since 1975 so 40 years I'm definitely closer now to saying she deserves to be in.
