If I were you, I'd consider nothing less than a Samsung. Might cost you more money, but let's face it, you keep a TV over ten years so how much more are you actually spending?

I bought my 46" Samsung LCD at Fry's for $1409. I've never seen a better picture. It came with 120 mhz for a clearer picture.

By the way, here's a suggestion to you and any of you that may already have an LCD and haven't done.

The manufacturers always turn the contrast up to it's highest point or 100%. Go to your controls and lower the contrast. You'd be surprised how much it improves the picture.

That's the thing, I have no idea what 120 mhz or any of those numbers even mean, 720, 1080... I have no idea, I knew the peeps here are on top of this stuff

You want to get a 1080P with 120 mhz. Gives you the clearest picture.

MAke sure you buy the HDMI cables to connect the set to your HD box. You need to go to your cable company and switch your digital box, if you have one, to a HD box.

go to costco or sams

look at pansonic plasma 42 or 50 both are under 1000

take it home

if you dont like it go back and get the vizio

vizio contrast ratio is lower so you are getting more bang for your dollar with panasonic.

lcd im not sure what they carry but if your room is not light controlled then you need an LCD anyway.. as watch a plasma during the day with no curtains it will suffer from glare.

I just bought a Sony Bravia 52" LCD....Nice! Very comparable to the Samsung, which is a little higher cost. But side by side they both looked the same to me on picture quality.

Samsung or LG, nothing less.

I just got a 50" Samsung 1080P Plasma at Best Buy for under $1200. It is incredible.

I had a 32in. vizio which got screen burn right after factory warranty expired, fortunately i had purchased an extended warranty & was able to get all my money back excluding taxes. I purchased the vizio for $500 + taxes at walmart as that was the only reason i purchased it because of how cheap it was.I have since purchased a samsung with 10,000 resolution that is so much better in picture & other things. Pay a few more bucks & get a samsung with at least 10,00 resolution,gl.

I bought the 32" Samsung about a month ago and so far, I am happy with it. Great, great picture even in SD channels although my cable provider only broadcast SD channels. Many consider it the best LCD TV right now. I mean the Samsung brand.
