Deadwood rules but where the hell is it? Has not been a new one in over ayear now - hope all is well on set. Was surprised to see Bill Maher last nite, didn't know he was back on with new shows, great show 90% of the time but panelists have alot to do with that. Curb Y.E. is one of funniest series ever, Entourage is great aand thats the one I didn't think I'd like being it's all inside Hollywood shtuff - pretty great. Check these out if you haven't seen them, makes you wonder why people still watch NBC, ABC,CBS -- and God help you if watch 'the' WB or UPN. Reba????WTF?????

Wil,

Dead on with this. I haven't seen Deadwood yet but will buy the seasons as I've heard countless times it's the best! Sopranos of course, Curb is very good, Entourage is growing on me and I absolutely LOVE the Wire. It's a shame Oz ended.

I have to agree. Sopranos, Deadwood, and Rome are in my top 5 of must see shows (24 and Shield other 2).

Deadwood
Al swearengen runs a saloon with gambling, whores, drugs, and basically controls the town. Every one seems to drink whiskey constantly. seth bullock the other main character is the sheriff and hardware store owner.
The writing and supporting character/actors are top notch. Alot of sex and violence and every effort is made to keep it historically accurate.

Al Swearengen is similar to tony soprano.
The creator /writer is david milch of nypd blue. Fanatic about details and has total control of this show. I find the dialogue hard to understand and have to watch multiple times to digest all of it, he spends alot of time working on it to get it just right.
