I agree with RS, have to have different seasons. One of the things I am not looking forward to in Vegas is the weather. I actually love the fall and I LOVE it when it rains.

After the move I am going thru now I am hoping to move to the east coast or maybe the far northwest. I will be researching alot of this in the up coming years.

If you love the rain, forget the states...you need to live here in Costa Rica....rains everyday for a solid 7 months....:missingte

Any city you name is going to have problem. So, its more about what would make your ideal city. For me (in order):
1 - Zero to NO traffic!
2 - Affordable homes

Everything else is extra. I live in the desert right now which comes close to this :)
you just named Champaign...ZERO traffic, some of the most affordable housing in america, Very intelligent population too.

Precisiely why I've contemplated a move to TUNICA.........plus they have gaming and reasonably nice weather throughout most of the year.
Not Tunica itself, that town is a hole in the wall, but Southaven, MS is a boom town, just south of Memphis on the Mississippi side of the border. AWESOME food in and around Memphis, no better BBQ in the world.

I just spent two weeks in Portland, Oregon on business, and
at least this time of the year it was paradise: 75 degrees,
sunny, nice breeze every day. Close to lakes, mountains, skiing
in July. Also close to the ocean... Very nice.

Though I've heard the winters can be really dreary.
