Well you heard of the $6 Million dollar Man ??? I'm the $50,000 Man

because after trying All kinds of Meds..... and physical therapist ....pain management , MRI's, Shock, etc.....

I did something I never thought I would do. I got Disc Replacement Surgery !!
And like OMT said, I heard all the stuff about people being worst after Surgery.
Plus, I never was Cut before in my life....

So for 4 Years, I lived with the Pain...Took the Meds, I Tried Everything under the Sun to feel better.....but never got better.

So I said, Fuk It ! Let's see what I can do.

At first I went to this Doctor that said, sure...I can fix you up
I just put in a Fusion ! My problem was a Very bad Herniated Disc
L5 S1 ( lower back ) and the doc said this will take care of that....

Until he showed me what that Fuker Looked like ! I said, NO WAY is that going into my Back !

So of course I didn't get it done...all the while I was getting Worst
Read something one day on the Internet....Artificial Disc Replacement !!

So I let my wife read up on Everything about it. She's smarter then Me, so she could understand it better.

Only Problem was, It was New...only 33 cases in the US at the time.

So we looked to see what doctors in the NY area that did this kind of Surgery.... ...Only 3 ( 1 doctor had a 1 year waiting time )
The Other Two were on Long Island ( which was perfect for me )
ONLY 9 Doctors at that time did this kind of Surgery in the US.
They said the Best was in Cleveland....Wouldn't Travel to get Cut !!
So I went to the first Doc....I asked him all kinds of questions..
How good is this Artificial Disc, How many have you done...How does it work ? How long before I'm on my feet, etc...etc...

Problem was, he said he has done 100's ??? I'm thinking to myself, this dude is Lying to me..because I already know that there have only been 33 done in the US.

So I was like, ok...I'll get back to ya :ohno: Yeah Right !
Go to the next Doc, I ask him the questions...no problem, he answers all
Then comes the Big one..So Doc How many have you done ??
11.............How did they go ? So far so Good.

Well since I'm going on and on.....I got it done. Took 45mins in & Out
and they Don't go through your Back..They go through the Front !!

They go in from the Front, Open you up, move somethings around, take out the Bad Disc, and Pop in a New Artificial Disc. Move back what they moved, and that's it. I was Walking that Night, and was Out of the Hospital the next Afternoon.

And My Back has felt Great ever since.

All Info is here : http://www.charitedisc.com/charitedev/domestic/default.asp

Oh, BTW the reason I call myself the $50,000 Man is, Because that's what the Disc Cost.

Get rid of the Chiropractor. Get insurance. Blue Cross works great for me. Get a real Doctor.

First find out what is or isn't wrong.
Like already posted go to a neurologist and get an MRI, CAT and X-rays.

I had a terrible back from 30 years of firefighting but no damage. Spasms that needed morphine.

If this is your case............CORE!!

Deep water aerobics(unweighted range of motion), and ball excercises 3 times a week.
Completely pain free.
If I take a week off, the pain is back.

These will help regardless of your condition.
Make sure you are ready(Doc will tell)

At your age, get on it now.

Hope this helps

I get back pain every now and then when I tweak it. What has helped is making sure my abs are strong.

But first go see a real doctor.

26 years of lower back and neck problems. Had neck sugery for rup disc. 10 years ago. I'm a plasterer, always looking up at ceilings. Get an MRI. That is a must, no 2 ways about it. Doctor or Chiro both need it to help. As for Kinz, I have to disagree. My Chiro helps big time. Straps me to a machine that stretches my spine and lets the disc ease their way back into place. Not a one time thing, but usually 4 visits. Swear by it. See your family Dr for guidance and get that MRI!!! Good luck.

if you dont workout, start doing so.

nothing cures a bad lower back than a strong core.

used to always have lower back pain even though i worked out religiously. incorporated more abs and lower back excercises and i rarely if ever have pain.

of course this requires time and work and isn't a 'quick fix' like shots, pills, chirpractors, etc

First off, you Need health insurance !!!! and you Need to go see a REAL Doctor....Like a neurologist ( try to stay away from an orthopedist )

You might have a herniated disk ,and chiropractor will do nothing much to help your Back in the Long Run. ( well, he will keep taking Your Money )

Get the Health Insurance, than see a Neurologist.

DO NOT put down that you have a Back Problem......

No, you don't need to see a neurologist. I've had 3 herniated discs in the last year and a typical doctor has no idea what to do with a back injury. That said, you will need to see a doctor so he/she can refer you for an MRI so they can properly diagnose the problem.

Do you have pain in either of your legs?
Is your torso crooked?
Is it hard to even get up off the couch or even take a shit?

If any of these is happening you probably have a herniated disc or five with cyatica (look that one up).

For now, all you can do is manage your pain with pain killers. Percocet works the best for me but that is a narcotic and needs to be perscribed. You need an MRI but I'd suggest trying everything in your power to avoid surgery.

PM me if you have questions. I've been fighting this for a long, long time.

I think you should put the Pipe Down !! You have NO CLUE what you are talking about ! NONE !

WTF does This Mean ??
