2-2 in the MLB yesterday for a very small profit of 1.11 units
I went 2-2 in the MLB yesterday for a very small profit of 1.11 units. I have to say that personally this card appears tougher to me and I like some favorites but either way here are today's plays:
Seattle/Minnesota Under 9 1/2 -1.06 (3 Unit Play) - This total appears high to me and I like it Under here. The Mariners have called up Ryan Feierabend from Triple A Tacoma and you have to wonder why he wasn't called up sooner as he posted a 7-1 record there with a 2.04 ERA and he was up in the majors last year although he struggled a bit. Feierabend has never faced the Twins before but I think with his major league history he should not be intimidated in this spot. The Twins will have Glen Perkins on the mound who is off of eight shutout innings against the Yankees and at home this year he has a 3.72 ERA in 67 2/3 innings with a 1.39 WHIP. He should have a little chip on his shoulder as the Mariners rocked him earlier this year. The home plate umpire for today's contest is Jeff Kellogg and although he is 14-12 to the Over so far this year these teams seem to go Under with him as the Mariners are 6-4 Under the past 10 while Minnesota is 7-3 Under their past 10. I like this one to be low scoring today.
Toronto +1.97 (3 Unit Play) - In baseball wagering you can't be afraid to take the underdogs if you want to win over the long haul and there are a lot of reason to take Toronto in this game today. The Blue Jays will have Shaun Marcum on the mound and after struggling after coming off the DL he has turned it around in winning his last two starts and allowing only three earned runs in those outings while pitching 13 innings. Marcum is also 3-0 in his career against Boston with a 2.77 ERA in four outings that have all been won by the Blue Jays. With the rainout on Friday and Roy Halladay pitching a complete game yesterday the Blue Jay bullpen is rested as well. The Red Sox have no slouch on the mound either today in Josh Beckett who is also pitching well recently but still at Fenway Park this year he has a 5.03 ERA and in his career he is only 3-6 when pitching against Toronto. The Blue Jays still have their sights set on a wild card run and although it is unlikely I think there is a lot of value in taking them in this game today.
San Francisco -1.15 (2.5 Unit Play) & San Francisco -1 1/2 Runs +1.45 (1.5 Unit Play) - I think people are shying away today from playing the Giants because Tim Lincecum was struck in the leg with a line drive in his last start but it is hard to believe that the Giants would take a chance with Lincecum unless they were fully sure that he was okay as he is a valuable player to their future. Lincecum has been outstanding all year recording a 2.05 ERA on the road and if it were not for the anemic offense of the Giants he would be front and center for the Cy Young award this year. He has struck out an incredible 182 batters while walking only 60 and he is 3-0 in his career against Atlanta with a 3.32 ERA. The Braves meanwhile will hand the ball to Charlie Morton who will again try to get a win at home but so far this year he is 0-5 with a 9.00 ERA in six starts. Morton has never met the Giants in his short career. The home plate umpire is Damien Beal and he has not umpired many games but so far this year he is 2-1 for the road team. I will take my shot with the Giants here today.
The above are my Sunday Selections and I will be back on Monday with more winning selections. Best of luck to everyone today and enjoy the games.
