It's just odd. It's a sports team but you guys defend like it's your kids or something. It's like the parents who never think their kids do anything wrong. Always somebody else's fault.
Not everybody hates your kid....not everybody is out to get your kid....but he does fuck up. Look at it in those terms
I have a two daughters, 5 and 8. I hold them responsible for everything they do and so far in life have not blamed their actions on anyone else.
When Belichick told everyone that they did what they were accused of doing, there was no defending. They took their punishment and moved on (in a big way). What bugs me about Spygate is so few understand what they did and how before (2007) it was common practice, hence the letter from Goodell before the 2007 season stating you CAN"T do it anymore. Bill broke the rules 100%.
This situation is completely different. Those boys in the league office went after them with NOTHING! They tried and didn't get it right.
I know you convicted Tom after that press conference, where I admit he didn't answer those questions with the most confidence I've seen from a player. I didn't like it either. But after this whole situation played out it is completely understandable now. He didn't have any answers, neither did the league, nor Walty boy, or Wells. To this day we have no idea IF anything happened to those footballs because just like the Colts balls, all of them lost air.
Kraft got screwed the worse, 1 million and 2 draft picks for absolutely nothing! But thats what you get when your part of a business that makes it own rules, levies its own punishment, and you yourself endorse the man pulling the strings.
I saw that press conference and knew right away he was lying. I think most people saw the same thing.
I don't consider it a big deal....Brady likes footballs with less air....he's on record saying that....so he had the equipment people deflate to his liking. Rodgers probably had his people inflate to how he likes it.
It is always the cover up that makes it worse.
Its over now and I think Brady is the best qb that ever lived......but I believe that organization does break rules.
