savant, i feel safe at Oly and Pinny, i also have 2 everyday locals -- who ive played with several yrs.. this gives me 4 very safe outs, i also have some money with BHB that i won in a contest, about a dime.. also have 1 small bookie that i contact from time to time.. Kinda like 4 big outs and 2 small ones.. Im dreaming of a 30k bankroll by football season next year savant, which i will breakdown by having $7500 at oly, $7500 with pinny and 15k in cash.. this will allow me to play $300 per game and if i can go 70-50 each month, this allows me to make $4500 per month and of that ill spend about 3 dimes.. well at least its a plan,, looking for a good tourney run and a profitable playoff run for both nhl and nba.. and then i hope to grind the mlb season for a nice profit..

ssi...i truely enjoy your comments on bank roll..etc..it should be a learning experience for nearly all in this forum...bet ya few have the long term stratagies that you hold yourself to day-in and day-out...i know it keeps me from stupid moves...see you following very similar stratagies in the emini contract...as i do with the fx market..thanks for your input...

you can put the teams in a hat and draw the winner out 50% of the time, all you must do is learn to hit the extra 7%. the trick comes in money management and discipline.. many fail because they treat this as a get rich quick scheme and it just doesnt work that way.. i had to learn to look at this bi-weekly or better yet monthly.. you cant win every day, just like all trades in the markets wont be winners.. if you can beat the demons inside you then you can get rich,, for me its more of a challenge within myself than it is against the markets or the books.. i know that i can hit 57% consistently (not 60%) and if im disciplined then ill be ok..

Thanks Ted, SSI, and Savant for the informative thread. You guys are all solid cappers and forum assets. Ted you have shown the benefits of bankroll management clearly.
SSI and Savant openly discuss capping strategies that I find interesting. I put up my own #s first also. Generally I look for value early based on my lines and defer to later season sharper lines.
For example I had Indy-2.5 and Hou -5.5, deferring to the 'sharper' line theory made the Hornets and Blazers sides of interest.
Didn't mean to ramble in your thread Ted, just wanted to say thanks.

Best Wishes
Gary
