The West is best.

Ottawa, sub .500 team versus the better division, (4-6).
They beat Detroit, Edmonton, St. Louis, and Minnesota.
Lost to Columbus, Nashville, Vancouver, Chicago, Calgary, and Colorado.

Anaheim in 7.

thos stats are completely meaningless (imo)....

Frankly, you could have all the regular season stats you want in the world, I would put that up against the luxury of having watched every sens and every ducks game so far in the playoffs...

who cares what they did in the regular season? how they are playing now is what is important.

Sens have looked like a well oiled machine so far, the ducks have not. Sens have a lethal penalty kill and powerful power play, ducks are the most penalized team in the leage, regular season and playoffs. Sens have three of the top 4 scorerers in total points in the playoffs. Sens are a dog in this series.

Its a No Brainer folks, take the Sens or Pass.

I agree. Throw out the regular season records as they are meningless by Stanley Cup time.

Ottawa will take this series in 6... Prong and Nyds will have their work cut out for them with ottawa being so deep. Emery is playing amazing and this series is Heatly's Series... " the smartest player on the ice "
Ottawa will have promblems with the ducks, the Sens havn't faced a rough team like Anahiem(Devils arn't tough)Ottawa will be in for a shock tonight and hopefully they will adjust.Ottawa backers wait till game 3 if your gonna bet on them! GLTA!:money8:

Raptors, by game 3 you won't be able to get +money on the Sens. I feel like if they can come out of Disneyland with a split they will likely be -130 or worse the rest of the way. Maybe I'm off. I'm surprised Ducks are favored (however slightly) and if I wasn't already in so deep on Sens futures from preseason I'd be all over them at even money for the series. Don't see that lasting unless they get chewed up tonight. BOL!

It depends on what you believe, particularly what you believe on how good are the Ottawa team is.

Against Pittsburgh, they played a team who was not a playoff ready team.

Against New Jersey, it became apparent the smaller Devils forwards all have lost a step over the years, it just wasn't the same Jersey teams of yesterday.

Against Buffalo, a 5 game series with 2 OT wins, one game won with a late third period goal, the other game won with a marker in the 2nd period. Ottawa won against Buffalo, but did not dominate from beginning to end.

As for the Ducks, they put away their opposition with the same relative ease to get to the finals.

Therefore, to say one team is playing better than the other, is not right in my opinion.

Right now, I have to still say the better team clearly is Anaheim.

However, I don't think Ottawa has been tested with a tough team like Anaheim, who can attack on the rush and the forecheck. The three teams Ottawa put away, could not do both.

The key to game one, and maybe the series, is the line match-ups. It will be that Swedish player Paulson against Ottawa's big line.

I remember this player Paulson a couple of years ago when the Ducks played Calgary, thinking, wow, who is this Paulson, he's pretty good defensive player, who can score. Sort of like Micheal Peca in his prime.

Anaheim put away the Red Wings becuase their 2nd & 3rd outplayed Detroit 2nd & 3rd line badly. Anaheim defense outplayed Detroit defense too.

On paper, the Mighty Ducks 2nd & 3rd line is better, and it defense is better than the Senators. There is no reason at this point to expect the Mighty Ducks 2nd & 3rd line to be outplayed, or its defencemen to be outplayed.

Ottawa will only go as far as Alferson can carry them. Shut him down, Anaheim should win. The rest of the Ottawa team outside the top line is not a big scoring threat. Ottawa will not outskate this Ducks team. Detroit couldn't even do it.

My thoughts are from my imagination from what I saw on the TV so far. Apparently, these two teams didn't met this season. So they will feel each other out in game 1.

Well, if they are going to feel each other out in game 1, there will be line match ups, which should and usually always favour the home side.

Big Ducks fan and was at game 1. Wasn't going to be a homer and bet Game 1 until I read your post and it was the exact same as my thought process. Ducks were lucky to win that 1, but Jiggy will prevail in this series.

Thanks,

How do you figure -130? If they take game 2 and lose game 3, the price will be right back to where it started or slightly more in the Ducks favor.
