Who does everyone like? Im going to say Ducks in 7....should be a long series.......Ottawa CAN* win though, as long as they are willing to be tough and stay patient.....The Ducks are a boring team.....But the edge on defense as well as goaltending makes them the winner! That doesnt mean I wont bet on the Sens in individual games......I predict a split in the first four games with each team winning on the others ice....then home ice wins for the next three games......maybe bet the road dog in every game, until game 7.......Your thoughts guys??????????

the ottawa defense is pretty solid also, i wouldnt underestimate them just yet. theyve already beaten brodeur and miller, so i dont think they will be too intimidated by giguere. i see the sens in another 5 game series!

No chance in hell Anaheim wins. I hate the Senators with a passion, hope the series gets cancelled because of a bacteria outbreak but...

Ottawa will win this in 4 or 5 games...mark it down.

Don't get too out of hand there Coop...my Leafs are taking it next year. The worst part about all of this is that if Ottawa wins, you know those assholes are going to raise the banner at home against the Leafs.

The West is best.

Ottawa, sub .500 team versus the better division, (4-6).
They beat Detroit, Edmonton, St. Louis, and Minnesota.
Lost to Columbus, Nashville, Vancouver, Chicago, Calgary, and Colorado.

Anaheim in 7.

LOL.....but then again, we have been hearing it from Leaf fan EVERY year that its THEIR year! They have had one good shot in my lifetime....and Wayne Gretkzy ruined it in game 7 for them that year.....Even though I hate the Leafs, (but I grew up watching them) it would be great for the game if they would win it just ONCE....kinda like the Red Sox did......Still like the Ducks in 7........might not be a real entertaining series to watch....just because of the Ducks style.........but, it cant be any worse than watching the NBA right now......Good Luck Fellas!

I agree about the NBA but again, I don't see Ottawa losing this series. Should be a good one.

Ottawa will take this series in 6... Prong and Nyds will have their work cut out for them with ottawa being so deep. Emery is playing amazing and this series is Heatly's Series... " the smartest player on the ice "

The wrong team is favored. I would flip the odds and say it's about fair. I'd jump on Ottawa at this price if I wasn't already loaded up on futures.

I think whoever wins game 1 wins the series. GO SENS!

We were just arguing about this with SportSavant in another thread. You say wrong team because you are a Sens fan and you think they will win, and that's perfectly fine.

However the right team is favored due to all the factors. They were the bigger favorite to win the Stanley Cup before, higher seed, home ice advantage.

With that said, I am leaning torward Ott slightly at this point. Not made my mind up yet.

The right team is probably favoured, but fatigue will play a huge role in this series. To narrow it even further, the fatigue of the respective dmen. Anaheim's top 3 are tired... and even though they have 6 days to rest at home, I believe this will play a role. Many, myself included, believe Scott Niedermayer is injured, and if he truly is it will be exposed in the finals. Furthermore, Ottawa probably has the better defence regardless of injury or fatigue, but those factors make their chances even better.

Give the goalie advantage to Anaheim, not because of skill, but because Giguere is a big snowman who takes up 3/4 of the net by just standing still. Ottawa needs to get him to move side to side, and things will be ok. They also need to get trafic to the net (which is one thing Detroit did well). If Emery can hold the Ducks top 6, everything should go the Sens' way.

Best case scenario for the Sens is that they end it in 5. Worst case, this series goes to game 7 winner take all. I'll take the Sens (+100)

Right and when did most of these games happen? Probably some at the start of the season. Hottest team going into the playoffs were the Sens. Sens in 6 games at home plus a good price on it too.

I'd be on the Sens no matter what because I've been a fan since they're first game in 92, and anyone who knows me knows I'm not a bandwagon jumper, so my opinion is obviously biased. But I am honestly surprised given how powerful the Sens appeared so far in the postseason that they're not at LEAST a pickem, home ice or not.

Objectively speaking, I think the Sens have a huge edge in top lines, a moderately big disadvantage in balanced offence, a slight edge in D (yes, even against Prong/Nieds) and a tie in goal... Giguere is not even as good as Miller, and certainly no Brodeur.

Interesting... Sens are +106 on the series against -116 on the Ducks at Pinny, but a look at their exactas show Sens in 6 at the shortest odds of +408. 2nd shortest is Ducks in 7 at +438, followed by Sens in 7 at +505. What this tells me is that we're looking at a long series, and the Sens are secretly favored and will be a pickem by Monday. Probably some value in the Sens at +money.

I dont think your assesment is wrong (with the exception about your comment about Miller being better than Giguere. Giguere is better than either Miller or Emery) but I am saying based on all the factors, Anaheim is slight favorite. That could change based on betting action up to gametime.
