By the way, what the hell is it with Hotel prices in Montreal, I know its the F1 weekend but even the slum locations are priced out of this world.

i'm happy you agreed to the bet HTRC. I just want to win one bet for christ sakes. After being stiffed by Don Marco for a meal, it will be a pleasure to sit down with someone and get a free meal. Don't worry, when I win this bet, I promise I won't take advantage of you. I will not spend more than 25 bucks on my share, of course that doesn't include the 2 bottles of Dom Perignon..

(just kidding) I will take it easy on you..

As for the hotels, well kiddo, F1 weekend here is the biggest weekend here in this city. It is absolutely nuts. The city is so packed here and the weather is great, the bars are packed, and the girls, well, wait and see. They close downtown off and the city is rocking. It's too bad fishhead won't come down, he'd love it here at that time of year. If you don't mind staying in a motel 13 min from downtown, you can stay on St Jacques street where prices for motels are about 60 a night, but rooms are small, and there are no cockroaches or rats, well, up until last time I was there at least.

Yeah I had the same problem last year, ended up finally finding a room at the Travelodge, which was about a 10 minute drive from the Casino. Got a chance to drive by the Big O which was cool to see.

What are the names of a couple of the places you are talking about? I will give them a call and see if anything is available.

alright HTRC, you're in luck. There are only 2 decent motels that has vacancy for you for the weekend of June 11, and they are very reasonable. I just called a bunch for you. BTW, I said you were 2 people.

1- Motel Colibri (2 double beds, clean room) 72 CDN taxes included per night.. 7 min from downtown

Motel Raphael (2 double beds, clean room, 80 CDN taxes included per night.. 12 min from downtown.

You can't beat those prices kid..

also HTRC, i think these places are the best locations in Montreal. You will NEVER be in traffic when you go downtown because you are nett to a great Highway that is right there that will lead you right to downtown. You are in a great spot. And when you come off the 401 from toronto, take the 20 and you will end up right at the door. You cannot be in a better spot at all. It is a little district right near downtown, clean, and safe, with everything around you, like Harveys, McDonalds, A&W, and it's only 5 minutes from my house, and there is even a decent restaurant there called Picasso.. It is a middle class restaurant that is opened 24 hrs, and the food is great. That is where you will be treating me for my free dinner.

geez, i am so sorry i fu cked up. I mixed up both motels with the distance. It's Colibri that is 12 min away, and Raphael that is 7 min away, sorry. I didn't get enough sleep last night. Anyways, colibri is down the street for me. I haven't been there in quite some time. if you want, I will go inspect the place for you and see if the rooms are indeed clean or not. I don't want you sitting in an ugly dirty room. I will go and give it the sick gambler inspection. I will give you the sick gambler result on the sick gambler inspection. I don't want you coming back here saying that sick gambler put you in a disgusting room. I have my reputation on the line here.
