Thanks Angelle,

I was the same way (maybe an hour or two of sleep--felt terrible) Much better now. I use an occassional xanax (generic alpro.) when I can't sleep.

Good point. A lot of people have told me I have an uncanny memory. Well, maybe that's partly because I have never touched any drugs (besides alcohol), and I only drink about once every few months

When taking drugs and alcohol, people need to think about there futures. This stuff can really **** a person up. Congrats on going 50+ days Doberman but a true alcoholic won't be able to drink in moderation over the long haul. Be carefull

You are one of the great beer drinkers of our generation sir.

See, and your Mom thought you would never amount to anything.

Green,

It's your prerogative to do what you want. But in my opinion, it could be 1 year, 2 years of thinking that you are moderating but eventually, I think most people end up in the same or worse situation that made them stop drinking in the first place. I don't believe in AA at all, but one thing I remember is they said each rock bottom will be lower than the previous one. My life is a lot more boring now and have less so called friends than before, but otherwise things like career, gambling, health, finances have vastly improved and this stuff is ten times more important in the big picture of things. Well gambling on NBA f*cks up health and furniture for that matter, but that's a different story for another day.

By the way, I will be in Vegas for Super Bowl weekend if you ever need to talk. Speaking of Vegas, I would rather drink straight poison than playing blackjack and drinking red bull and vodka together.

In any case, best of luck in whatever you do.

Thanks for all the kind replies and even the unkind ones.

I had a six pack and a bottle of wine at home Monday as I watched all my bets roll in. I woke up Tuesday morning and went to my old watering hole (The Crown and Anchor for those of you in Vegas or who visit here), got to see many of my old friends and hoisted quite a few.

Came home and slept it off and am back to work Wednesday night. Not off until next Tuesday, so it's highly unlikely I'll drink again until then.

Green- When I mentioned drinking in moderation was good, that did not really mean a six-pack and a bottle of wine.

Sounds like your ok though.

I consider moderation to be 2 drinks and 4 at the very most!

Been to the Crown and Anchor a few times. Nice little joint for sure.

I am not kidding when I say this, but you would be hard pressed to find a bar in the entire city of Las Vegas that I havent attended. Really.
