PLATINUM PLAYS FOR WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY:
**PERFECT PLAY
Washington Nationals @ Los Angeles Dodgers
Daniel Cabrera does not know what he is getting into. He takes his trends which would look like something taken out of the little rascals movie; ( Cabrera is 0 FOR...5 in his last 5 road starts, 5 starts as an underdog, 4 coming off a loss last game, 5 in last 5 on grass, 5 in games vs. a left handed pitcher) into "Manny Wood" to take on the Dodgers, who are only...20-8 this season. Los Angeles are 11-4 in the last 15 games overall against Washington. Of the last 28 games played in California, 21 have gone in favor of Los Angeles. Los Angeles have dominated right handers winning 5 consecutive games and 21 of 25 at home. They are 6-1 in the last 7 series openers. Tonight they send Kershaw to the mound. When he has started the Dodgers have had major success winning 7 consecutive games overall, 7 straight at home and 7 straight as a home favorite. Now right now your probably convinced that Los Angeles is the play, but you still have not paid for anything that has been written. Those are trends you can find over at any trend website and do not influence my pick as much as these following trends do. Dating back to 2005, the Dodgers have not lost a game one of a series at home to Washington. Dating back to 2005 the Dodgers have won every game against Washington at home. In every series when the Expos/Nationals traveled to Los Angeles Dodgers have taken either game one or two a perfect 16 times. This is a PERFECT situation. I have search high and low in a massive database and I can not find a spot where the Dodgers are not perfect over Washington, they simply have not lost! Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention, The Dodgers are a perfect 12-0 this season at home and Washington made the trip over 3 time zones over night after finishing a series late last night.
HOW TO WAGER: We are going to hammer on LA playing to win 3 units in the first game. If by some miracle the stars line up and Washington comes through tonight, we play to win 5 units tomorrow.
Risk 5.70 units to win 3.00 units on Los Angeles Dodgers moneyline against Washington Nationals.
Chicago Cubs @ Houston Astros
Now this one I like. Not as much as the Dodgers which I am still drooling over, but I like it. We have a past meeting this season to work off of and it is a divisional matchup which makes it great for total plays. Earlier this season the Cubs Astros played both game one and game two under the total. Today they both have solid pitchers going in Harden and Hampton and a Houston offense that has been fantastic...for double A ball. Seems like a textbook combination for an under in game one. Infact the last 10 series played in Houston between the two games one or two have fell under the total. Houston has an impressive 121-23 record where a game falls under in either game 1 or game 2 of a home series dating back to 1994. These two have played 19 of 21 previous series in Houston under the total in game one or two.
HOW TO WAGER: Same as usual, play to win 1 unit in game one and if it loses play to profit 1 unit in game two.
Risk 1.10 units to win 1.00 units on Chicago Cubs Houston Astros Under the total of 9
San Francisco Giants @ Colorado Rockies
There really isn't any hype or story lines in this series to talk about and get you excited about the game for reasons other then the trends. I try as hard as I can to do that but with this you really can't. The Giants stink on the road and the Rockies are that great at home posting a game below .500 record. For some reason, whatever it may be the Rockies have beat up on the Giants at Coors. The Rockies have taken either game one or two in 13 consecutive series and 8 of the past 9 series openers. They were in San Francisco over the weekend and lost 2 of 3 so you could say this is a revenge spot. The 100% trend along with the 88% overall trend are enough to do it for me. Along with the lefty on the mound for SF I am certain the Rockies get it done either Wednesday or Thursday over the Giants.
HOW TO WAGER: Plain and simple. Play to win 1 unit in the first game. If the Rockies fail to post a win, they play to win 2 units in game 2.
Risk 1.50 units to win 1.00 units on Colorado Rockies moneyline against San Francisco Giants
