last year Coker led before the scrimmages and Sims pulled even after 1st scrimmage and won job after 2nd scrimmage. We just had 1st scrimmage so very strange to write an article today asking if it was "taking too long" but gotta sell those papers. Last year it went past 2nd scrimmage....will do the same in 2015. As i posted above Cornwell just made a Sims-type move in 1st scrimmage while Coker so I would say it is very close b/w 3 guys
I was thinking more along the lines of Bama being a good UNDER for this first game more than I was who starts. But I thought some of the others would want to read the article since it is related to who the the odds are on to start.

update...Coker sustained foot injury and likely out of practice for most of this week. would not want to be the guy that took all the big favs like junky suggested as that -250 odd for Coker is terrible value as there is no way he is >71% chance of starting in 19 days

IMHO no major program should be sitting with 1, 1A, 1AA qb's on Aug 17 but i really don't believe there is any separation b/w Coker/Cornwell/Morris right now.

Wisky game could be first team to reach 20 points wins....and Wisky isn't seeing 20 points in that one ;)

Morris doesn't have the talent (arm, size, hype) as the other four quarterbacks. What he has earned during his three years is respect from the coaches and players. He's the consonant team player. Their are other QB's seemingly better suited to lead the Tide but if this kid got the call....with surrounding talent...he would be just find.

Saban playing this QB game is silly to me.. Name a starter and if he doesn't work out...go to a the next on. Hell, half the teams in the SEC would love to have one of Alabama's quarterbacks.

will become much clearer after 2nd scrimmage but right now I would probably say 40% Morris, 35% Coker, 25% Cornwell if i was tossing percentages around.

speaking of QB's this one is for coachcb....

Florida about 90% chance of getting Ricky Town. He was originally Bama commit but switched to USC after they sent Nuss packing and brought in Kiffin. The last 3 McElwain/Nussmeier QB's are in NFL and the QB cupboard at UF isn't all that full so really makes this move likely. Kid has incredible talent and your only 2016 QB commit was a total head scratcher as most folks didn't think he was even a power-5 prospect let along upper echelon program like gators.

Town to Florida makes too much sense not to happen

For some reason, David Cornwell is in Saban's doghouse.

Heard he kind of went off on Lane Kiffin because he felt he wasn't getting enough reps.

Arkansas lands a huge commitment in Southern Cal bailout QB Ricky Town. Former Alabama commit from Caly who balked and signed with USC. Not happy and bailed for Arkansas.

Damn good QB for future...he will have 4 years left.

he definitely fell off the face of the earth over the weekend and his name has not been mentioned in a single press conference since Thursday. But it wasn't due to a spat directly with Kiffin...was something that happened off the field possibly discussing with other players his discontent at getting less reps than BB.

saban "officially" starts the game planning for wisky on Wed so i would expect either a full declaration of Morris/Coker as starter or at least a fairly obvious move (1 guy getting 75% of 1st team reps) either tomorrow or Wed at the latest. After 2nd scrimmage I would say it's Coker 33%, Morris 67% which likely makes AM the first game starter. Barnett, assuming no injuries to the aforementioned, is heading for a red shirt season while Cornell sits #3 and Bateman holds for fg/xp.

i don't have any huge concerns on if it's Morris or Coker but the amount of dropped balls at A-day, both scrimmages, and throughout fall practice is a serious issue. A lot of people forget that as great as Cooper is/was he was prone to the dropped ball and pretty much everyone can agree that we need a "receiver by committee" to make up for his production. Nobody is going to single-handedly make up for what he did last year. There's a ton of talent there (Ro Foster, Stewart, Mullaney, Black, Howard, Ridley) but those kids have dropped a bunch of balls in practice...but some of that has to be due to working with a bunch of different QB. The positive, if Coker happens to be the starter, is that Foster and Stewart have worked with him more than they ever worked with Morris

Coker will start at QB.

Stewart the next stud at wide receiver.

looks like it will be coker. this morning he got nearly all the first team reps.

not sold on stewart. ridley will be the next stud but maybe not in 2015. I expect mullaney, ro foster, and stewart to all catch their share but stewart has some serious focus issues catching this football. would not be surprised if oj howard had more targets than stewart....

defense is going to be insane
