For some reason, David Cornwell is in Saban's doghouse.
Heard he kind of went off on Lane Kiffin because he felt he wasn't getting enough reps.
he definitely fell off the face of the earth over the weekend and his name has not been mentioned in a single press conference since Thursday. But it wasn't due to a spat directly with Kiffin...was something that happened off the field possibly discussing with other players his discontent at getting less reps than BB.
saban "officially" starts the game planning for wisky on Wed so i would expect either a full declaration of Morris/Coker as starter or at least a fairly obvious move (1 guy getting 75% of 1st team reps) either tomorrow or Wed at the latest. After 2nd scrimmage I would say it's Coker 33%, Morris 67% which likely makes AM the first game starter. Barnett, assuming no injuries to the aforementioned, is heading for a red shirt season while Cornell sits #3 and Bateman holds for fg/xp.
i don't have any huge concerns on if it's Morris or Coker but the amount of dropped balls at A-day, both scrimmages, and throughout fall practice is a serious issue. A lot of people forget that as great as Cooper is/was he was prone to the dropped ball and pretty much everyone can agree that we need a "receiver by committee" to make up for his production. Nobody is going to single-handedly make up for what he did last year. There's a ton of talent there (Ro Foster, Stewart, Mullaney, Black, Howard, Ridley) but those kids have dropped a bunch of balls in practice...but some of that has to be due to working with a bunch of different QB. The positive, if Coker happens to be the starter, is that Foster and Stewart have worked with him more than they ever worked with Morris
