Let's face it, there's no doubt that Obama and Michele are racists who supported a racist Chicago Trinity Platform for many years.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Obama then playing the race card...it's what he'll do best.........he's no different then Jesse & Al........

He is the same as Jesse and Al, But he is for change, what change ? no one knows?

When Obama wins, what on earth will Jesse & Al do for a living? :nohead:

The truth of the matter is, is that Obama is incompetant and a liar and a radical leftist.....and The MIDDLE EAST TERRORISTS will be dancing in the streets when Obama is elected.

What you are referring to is version # 2 of the speech. The original was in Jacksonville, Fla., “ They’re going to try to make you afraid. They’re going to try to make you afraid of me. ‘He’s young and inexperienced, and he’s got a funny name. And did I mention he’s black?’ ” Nice try but no cigar.

You might also want to look at the pronoun and verb tense.
1. "They" -- McCain claims this is reference to him. But he didn't say McCain did he? He said they. They is anyone who might attack him. 529 ads, right-win talk shows, whatever.
2. "Going to" -- more importantly, he didn't accuse of McCain (or anyone else) of actually pointing out his race. He simply cautioned that this was coming, not necessarily from McCain, but from those who want to smear him.

Obama didn't accuse anybody of making race issue, and specially not McCain. McCain's team claiming that he did is lying in an attempt to themselves inject race.

Nice try but no cigar.

He's now saying that McCain and Bush (and he mentioned them specifically) are going to tell everyone that he's "different", he has a "funny name", and, oh by the way, "he doesn't look like the presidents on the 1 and 5 dollar bills"

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true.":missingte:missingte

D2, You can in interpret it any way you choose. To me “they” meant “whitey”. If you don’t believe BO is a racist I suggest you to listen to his audio book and if that doesn’t turn the light on then you are doomed to live in the dark.

I don't think anyone on this forum has a serious problem with Obama being black (we won't even bring up the fact that he is half-white). I do have a problem with him using his ethnic background as a campaign point, though (well, that and the whole "57 states" thing). It shouldn't matter what the color of your skin is to voters (as it doesn't since he is the democratic nominee). Its a thinly veiled attempt to portray himself as a "victim" and most voters should see right through it.

He is supposed to be the champion of non-divisive, non-partisan politics...but he divides and promotes the Democratic party every chance he gets. I watched an interview with him during the 2006 election...and in the beginning he talked about how we need to get past all of this partisan bickering and get down to solving problems. Later on in the very same interview, he was asked about how he will work with a Republican majority if it happened again. He said: "That is not a concern to me, I am just trying to get as many Democrats elected as possible." I'll try to find it on youtube.

Non-partisan, non-divisive my ass. He's just an inexperienced political hack with zero qualifications to lead a lemonade stand, let alone the greatest country in the world. My dime on McCain +220 is looking better and better each day.

Well, what did he mean by the not-looking-like-the-presidents-on-the-currency crack? How else can you spin, I mean interpret that statement?

He meant that he looks like curious george and no other presidents have looked like george. Maybe a jack ass or two but non like george.

Book Review-The Race Card

<!-- GT -->"Almost all Americans agree that racism is wrong… But a lot of people also worry that the charge of racism can be abused. We can all think of examples: Tawana Brawley… Clarence Thomas… and of course there's O.J. Simpson… Ever since the acquittal of O.J, the idea that race is a 'card' to be played for selfish advantage has become commonplace…
The Race Card will examine the prevalence of dubious and questionable accusations of racism and other types of bias… The term 'racism' is in a state of crisis… Self-serving individuals, rabble-rousers, and political hacks use accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia and other types of 'bias' tactically, to advance their own ends [while] people of goodwill may make sincere claims that strike others as obviously wrongheaded."
-- Excerpted from the Introduction (pages 6-7, and 36)
Was it fair for a billionaire like Oprah Winfrey to cry racism when an upscale store refused her admittance, unaware that she was a celebrity? How about Michael Jackson's undergoing a series of cosmetic surgery procedures to turn himself white only to later conveniently reclaim his blackness when he wanted to allege that his record company had treated him like a slave?
Clarence Thomas successfully squelched further inquiry into his fitness for the Supreme Court during his confirmation hearings by publicly alleging that the proceedings amounted to little more than a "high-tech lynching." And hip-hop mogul Jay-Z called for a black boycott of a pricey brand of champagne after an executive with the company complained about having their product associated with gangsta rap.

According to Richard Thompson Ford, author of The Race Card: How Bluffing About Bias Makes Race Relations Worse, these incidents suggest that some relatively well-to-do and well-connected African-Americans might be willing to make inappropriate accusations of prejudice for purely selfish reasons. The problem is that in the process they are subverting the honorable ideals of the Civil Rights Movement to eradicate Jim Crow segregation and the more egregious evidence of the vestiges of slavery in society.
The author laments that such manipulation has backfired, because "it distracts attention from larger social injustices" and "encourages vindictiveness and provokes defensiveness when open-mindedness and sympathy are needed." He goes on to say that whites were disheartened to observe African-Americans celebrating the O.J. verdict, which they saw as "a frightening indication that many blacks would rejoice in retaliatory injustices."
For whites often feel they are themselves the victims of a demeaning racial stereotype that would have everyone believe they are "plain vanilla" and "dull milquetoasts" whose virtues can only be narrowly assessed "by grades and test scores." Regardless of whether white men can't jump or have rhythm, leveling charges of either racism or reverse-racism for unmerited advantage are more likely to engender responses of cynicism than empathy nowadays.
Ford concludes that opportunists who resort to the tactic of playing the race card "are the enemies of truth, social harmony, and social justice." His solution? "For all decent and honest people" to join in condemning any such perpetrators. Certainly, food for thought at the dawn of what has been dubbed by some a post-racial age.

Stop Hollering Race Card Libs-This Grandma's a Lib

Grandmother arrested on race charges after telling rowdy Asian students to 'go home'

Sickened: Jo Calvert-Mindell was carted her off to the police station charged with using racially aggravated words

After being woken for the third time in one night by a group of drunken and noisy students, Jo Calvert-Mindell was at her wits' end.

The former policewoman got dressed, went outside and shouted at them: 'Why can't you go back to where you come from and make some noise there? I bet your families and neighbours wouldn't put up with it.

'You don't care about us and do just as you like. What gives you the right to frighten my elderly neighbours, cause damage and keep us awake at night?'
She also reported the incident to police, who came and dispersed the eight students.
The 51-year-old grandmother was astonished when four months later she was arrested and accused of being a racist. It turned out that two Asians in the group had complained to the police.
In April, Miss Calvert-Mindell, who has never been in trouble with the police before, was charged with using racially aggravated threatening words or behaviour under section 5 of the Public Order Act.

In May, she appeared at Folkestone Magistrates' Court in Kent, where she denied the charge.
The case hung over her until the Crown Prosecution Service decided to drop it last week, admitting there was little chance of conviction. Now she is filing a complaint about the way the police treated her.

Yesterday, Miss Calvert-Mindell, a Liberal Democrat councillor and community volunteer, said: 'The last thing I am is a racist.
'I have a totally inclusive attitude to different races and cultures - I don't care if you are black, white, green or a Martian.
'Their colour had nothing to do with it - it was their behaviour.

'I think there is something very wrong in our society when a resident can't go out and try and prevent crime and disorder and encourage the defendants to go back home and that they can then play the race card to completely absolve themselves of responsibility for that behaviour.

'The authorities today are so sensitive to being criticised for being racist that any claims of racism just raises their antennae, instead of using common sense.'
The incident that led to her court appearance happened in the early hours of November 8 last year on the Hales Place estate in Canterbury.
Miss Calvert-Mindell, who has a daughter and three grandchildren, was woken three times by students from the nearby University of Kent, who were shouting drunkenly and kicking bins.
Fed up after months of sleeplessness caused by noisy students she put her clothes on and went down to tell them to be quiet.

She said that when she shouted at the students 'all I meant was that they would not do that at their family homes wherever they had come from in England.'

But one of the students said she was being racist. Two Asians in the group later complained to police.
Assistant district crown prosecutor Carol Chastney said: 'Following a review we decided to discontinue the proceedings against the defendant as there was no longer sufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction.'

Kent Police refused to apologise. Superintendent Chris Hogben said: 'An allegation was made that was fully investigated. A case was presented to the CPS and the decision was made to prosecute.
'If Miss Calvert-Mindell would like to discuss our response and the conduct of officers I would urge her to contact me direct.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...harges-telling-rowdy-Asian-students-home.html From front page: http://fightpc.net Thought Police: News Concerning Politically Unacceptable Discourse and Rationale thread
