crock of shit.........outlaws that have guns have stolen the majority of them from homes and or stores or purchased them from the people who have done such.........nice try:103631605

So your logic is...take them away from people so they have no way to defend themselves...and then crooks will just magically not have guns anymore.

Jesus Christ....:ohno:

no Steak, honest people will tend to stay honest, but criminals will find a way.

Do you really not believe a very very very extremely very large black market will quickly fill the void for the criminal element. Actually, such policies will create more criminals in and by themselves.

Plaxico isn't all that bright. I think he'll do time. That case will be very easy to prosecute. He obviously had a loaded gun because the dumbass shot himself.

I've been carrying a gun for over 17 years and I've never had a problem.

yeah i'm just sayinig its a case where the crime don't fit the punishment

you can get CAUGHT 3 times driving around drunk off your ass putting others in danger before you get a felony (at that point chances are this person has driven around drunk on 100s of occasions)

but take a gun in public and pop yourself in the leg and you gonna do years in jail

just doesn't make much sense to me

but than again all liberal policies don't make much logical sense when you sit down and really think about them :)

the places with the strictest gun laws have the highest rates of gun crime such as DC and chicago

Tizdoom, nice try, but a horrible analogy.

I know with every beat of my heart that encouraging drug use is not good for society. There is no doubt it leads to unproductive lives, violence and premature death. Drugs are a vice, guns to not tear down society in the same fashion.

Having said that, I'm kind of a fence sitter on the war on drugs. I know a black market exists, it gives power to organized crime and it crowds our courts and our jails, but I'm not comfortable with legalization and the increased opportunities such would provide either.

Anyhow, comparing the harm guns do to society with the harms drugs do to society is where your analogy fails.

not having a war on drugs isn't "encouraging" drug use

everybody's solution to things they don't agree with is to have big government stomp it out and make it go away and everything will be just fine is flawed and liberal logic

hell in high school it's easier to get your hands on pot than alcohol

tizdoom, at the end of the day, we are a country of laws, and laws are a reflection of society's morals.

sometimes it seems like you think we should return to the wild wild west

tells us what laws you support? any and all of them will be "liberal" using your reasoning

should government protect us from murder?

should government protect us from theft?

should government secure our borders?

should government have any monetary system?

what liberal policies do you espouse?

of course there should be a basic set of rules

i'm not saying completely legalize all drugs at let everybody run wild

even with alcohol and tobacco there are some rules like age limits, can't operate vechiles while drinking etc....

just have more logical laws

all i'm saying is the "drug war" (a reagan "revolution" creation) in its current state is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars is not working at all

got jam packed jails and tossing people in cause they got 10 pounds of pot on them with no past criminal record makes zero sense

anyway i'm just trying to bust your balls some

the fact that you said i'm on the fence means you can see what i'm saying to some extent

i come off as an complete anarchist but i know that won't work in the real world

my point is with baby steps we continue to move more and more away from anarchy and towards the fascist/statist end of the spectrum we need to swing things back a bit in the anarchy direction on many things to regain some balance

or we going to continue heading down the slippery slope to a very unfree not fun society longer term

I bought one of these bad boys for 255 American at a gun show last month. And this was bought for the sole reason the Amendment was created...to keep undesirables out of my household and property including the federal government.

Fletch, no personal offense intended when I remind you that if the federal government wants to invade your property, that handsome bad boy won't do shit to stop them.

Very much true my friend. But its a cheap form of security, even if its of the mind. Besides, i might use it in my next sexcapade like that cat from Ohio who shot his woman in the chest...but ill at least i wont have it loaded.

bumped this thread for Punter. I told you I give credit where credit is due. You just happened to reference this topic too.

I'm looking for an old thread about RR's tax cuts, but can't find it.

One of these days you will come to understand that Carters appointing Volker the head the fed was what brought the country out of problems , not jellybeans tax cuts.
