Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig'

Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:
Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
Yeah what a dumbass Obama is just like 57 states :lolBIG: . Palin looks better that any pig i've ever seen & she probably smells better too. :lolBIG:

McCain Has Said "Lipstick On A Pig" At Least Three Times By Greg Sargent - September 10, 2008, 10:04AM
As you know, the McCain campaign is pretending to be outraged by Barack Obama's use of the common phrase "lipstick on a pig," with McCain surrogates pretending that they believe that Obama was tacitly referring to Sarah Palin as a porker.
The McCain campaign even has a new Web ad (see video below) hitting Obama over the "pig" line.
As it turns out, however, McCain himself has used the same phrase not once, not twice, but at least three times.
The first one is the one that's gotten all the attention: McCain using the phrase last October to describe Hillary's health plan. But there are two more examples.
At a press conference on Iraq war strategy on February 1, 2007, McCain said (via Nexis):
"It gets down to whether you support what's being done in this new strategy or you don't. You can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig in my view."
And according to National Public Radio, McCain said the phrase again that same day in a similar context (via Nexis):
"It's all about withdrawal or not withdrawal, okay? I mean that's what it's all about. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."

<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=475 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>Dear Newsmax Reader:
As John McCain has soared in the polls after picking Sarah Palin, the Obama campaign has engaged in a vicious smear campaign against her. Obama has likened her to a "pig with lipstick" and the Wall Street Journal reports that 300 liberal journalists have descended on Alaska in an effort to dig up dirt on her.
You can help defend Sarah Palin from such vicious attacks. Our sponsoring advertiser, the Republican Majority Campaign, has an urgent message below on their national TV campaign to defend Sarah and expose Barack Obama.
Please help them today by Going Here Now or reading their letter below.

They will do anything to destroy Sarah Palin.
They will do anything to elect Obama President
— the most leftwing candidate in history.

Only you can stop them.

Dear Fellow American:
As I write this letter, the far Left — the Obama campaign, the Democratic Party headed by Howard Dean and the major (liberal) media—are all working in overdrive to destroy and smear Sarah Palin.
They believe if they can destroy this courageous young woman and popular governor, they will end John McCain’s bid for president.
Just this week, commentator Bill Maher ridiculed Sarah’s baby son who has Down's syndrome. These people are absolutely despicable.
They have one goal: Put Barack Obama — the most radical left-winger ever nominated by the Democratic Party — in the Oval Office.
sp_photo_1.jpg
Because of this, I am urgently writing you on behalf of the Republican Majority Campaign PAC, one of the nation’s largest and most influential PACs.
We are fighting to expose Barack Obama’s radical agenda and defend Sarah Palin and John McCain from the liberal media.
We have plans to launch a multi-million dollar TV and online ad campaign to reach millions in the next two weeks, but we need your financial help.
We need it more than ever because Barack Obama will likely spend more money than any candidate in history to get control of the White House.
Make no mistake about it: Barack Obama has very powerful backers.
Obama promised he would abide by campaign finance limits, as John McCain has agreed to.
He lied. This week alone, Obama raised $8 million! He could easily spend $500 million during his whole campaign to buy the White House.
Worse, John McCain and Sarah Palin have their hands tied with public financing limits.
That’s why the Republican Majority Campaign needs your urgent help in our major national TV ad campaign to help John McCain and Sarah Palin.
The Republican Majority Campaign PAC is one of the nation’s leading PACs.
Already the Republican Majority Campaign PAC has spent $2 million on grass-roots efforts exposing Obama, voter by voter.
But it’s clear we need to do more and urgently.
We need to tell the American people the truth about Obama, his agenda and his radical associates.
In our national campaign we’ll reveal the truth about Obama’s radical tax agenda, including:
arow.gif
his plan to almost double capital gains tax
arow.gif
his plan to let the Bush tax cuts expire
arow.gif
his plan to raise gasoline taxes
arow.gif
his plan to nationalize healthcare
We will also reveal the sordid truth about Barack Obama:
arow.gif
How for 20 years he sat silently as his minister, the radical preacher
Jeremiah Wright, said he hated America — the same preacher who
blamed the 9/11 attacks on OUR OWN GOVERNMENT.
arow.gif
The involvement of convicted felon Tony Resko in the purchase of Obama's$1,300,000 home.
arow.gif
His despicable association with his friend William Ayers, who was on the FBI’s Most Wanted list for over 10 terrorist attacks.
arow.gif
The fact that at age 25, Obama was backed by a radical Muslim activist close to the Saudi royal family when he applied to Harvard Law School.
The Ayers Connection
William Charles Ayers and Barack Obama have been friends for decades.
There is clear evidence that their lives and dealings have been intertwined for many years.
We have reason to believe that Obama and Ayers were friends way back in 1986.
They even served together in 1995 on the Annenberg Challenge, overseeing the distribution of about $50 million to area schools.
That same year, Ayers hosted Obama in his own home and donated to his campaign.
What does the association between Ayers and Obama say about Obama’s political views and perspective?
Ayers was an anti-American, traitorous radical who will stop at nothing to push his hateful communist agenda.
In the 1960s and 70s, he was a leader in the notorious underground terrorist group, the “Weathermen.”
The Weathermen declared war on the United States government and they bombed over 30 establishments (leading to multiple fatalities, including police officers).
Obama's friend Bill Ayers
chco.gif

“Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars
and apartments. Bring the revolution home,
kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.”
William Ayers
Ayers is unapologetic about his terrorist activities.
Incredibly, on Sept. 11, 2001, Ayers is quoted by The New York Times as saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs … I feel we didn’t do enough.”
How could a man like Obama associate with such a dangerous radical? And even defend him?
And now Obama, Ayers friend, could be sitting in the White House next year — unless we tell the American people the unvarnished truth about them!
We Must Defend Sarah Palin and John McCain.
The major media have already decided who their candidate is: MSNBC host Chris Matthews says Barack Obama makes a “thrill” go up his leg when he hears him speak.
Oprah has picked your next president.
But you can stop Chris Matthews, Oprah and the rest of the liberal media.
You can say we the American people will pick our president.
Your voice can be heard — we need your urgent help with the Republican Majority Campaign PAC.
Your maximum possible gift of $5,000 would help us enormously.
Even smaller donations are going to help.
Anything you can do will give us the ammunition we need to fight for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
Any amount — $1000, $500, $250, or even $100 will help show the truth before the November Presidential election.
Even if you can only afford $35 or $25 — we need your help and we need it now.
We must act quickly. We want to have our first ads up reaching millions in the next two weeks. Ronald Reagan once said, “If not us, who? If not now, when?
I will let you answer his questions today.
Thank you, and God bless America!
You Can Make a Difference — Go Here Now!

Much ado about nothing.

Ahhh Judge - how wrong you are!

Remember when:
This week Mississippi Senator Trent Lott said, quote, "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him.
We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over
all these years either," end quote.

The Democrats and the MSM ran Trent Lott out of his leadership position for a few inocuous words.

I see no reason the Republicans should be held to one standard while Democrats are held to another.

Anyone using that "lipstick on a pig" comment AFTER Palin made her Hockey Mom statement is doing it on purpose to get a rise out of the rank and file.

You are such a joke. Trent Lott was endorsing a presidential candidate who ran on a segregationist, racist ticket. Obama was saying that, in his opinion, McCain doesn't represent change, and just because he says he does, that doesn't make it true.

I think everyone on here should have a look at how you just equated two statements that aren't even in the same ballpark as one another. They're not even in the same SPORT. You are such a hack. How do you expect anyone to take you seriously when you post such patently absurd comments? At least keep it within reason, to something that an uninterested observer MIGHT think plausible.

Trent Lott said nothing racist - his comments about a man on his birthday were meant as a lament for days gone by. His comment was CONSTRUED by the left as a double entendre to be racist.

Barrack Obama said nothing about Sarah Palin - his comments were directed at the Republcan agenda, yet his comments were interpreted by his audience as a double entendre to be a sexist remark against Sarah Palin, coming as it did on the heels of her very famous "Hockey Mom" statement.

You can't have your banana and eat it too.

The two situations are exactly equal!

Strom Thurmond ran on a segregationist, racist ticket for the presidency.
Trent Lott said that his stated voted for Thurmond's segregationist, racist ticket and was proud of it. And if the rest of the country had voted for the racist segregationalist there would be a lot fewer problems in the world.
I didn't say he said anything racist, I said he expressed support for a racist person and ideal.

On the other hand, Obama didn't even say Palin's NAME. Get a grip!

Trent Lott never mentioned race, yet you interpret his statement to be racist.

And Barrack Obama made a sexist statement by calling Sarah Palin a pig

How many times are you going to put words in my mouth?

"I didn't say he said anything racist, I said he expressed support for a racist person and ideal."

Now are you going to tell me Strom Thurmond's Dixiecrat run for the prez wasn't racist?

What does Strom Thurmond have to do with Obama's sexist remarks?

YOU brought up Trent Lott/Strom Thurmond as a counterpoint. And now you're asking me how it is relevant?

What a joke. Do you have any response to my argument? Doesn't sound like it.

It's also been mentioned that the way Obama calls women "Sweetie" is also sexist - you'd never hear him calling a man "sweetie".

The more I read about Obama, the more convinced I become that he is a sexist.

It's no wonder he didn't allow Hillary on his ticket - he doesn't like strong women.

I once read that a man who fears strong women is in doubt about his own masculinity and could be a latent homosexual.

Why doesn't Obama come out of the closet? I'm sure his friends on the left would welcome his coming clean about being a homosexual.
