The Onion's been around Madtown since the 60's in some version or another.

Wouldn't surprise me at all, the amount of comic/spoof stuff around during the 60s and 70s was phenomenal.

A lot of publications went belly up or faded away during the 80s as kids turned towards pooters and our brave new world of electronic gadgets.

That mass market world of imaginations written/drawn down on paper seems to have disappeared as a consequence of digital media.

Now we get youtube videos of kids drinking their own puke or beating each other up.
