the BEST advice/saying i ever heard on this subject was this

NEVER loan anyone ANY money expecting to get it back - ONLY loan them money knowing odds are you will probably NEVER see it again

I've learned over the years not to do it...only been stiffed once so far, but I hate having to run down friends...it's ruined some relationships...

once they ask and you do not offer, the relationship will never be the same.

loan it or don't , you are still screwed.

Talk radio host Dave Ramsey says NEVER to loan $$ to family or friends.

Either give it freely as a gift, or say "no."

If it's a gift, you'll only give away what you can afford to give away.

The entire relationship changes when one person owes another.

Bad idea

Loaning money to friends is a bad idea.

Loaning money to girls you are sleeping with a worse idea.

Loaning money to girls you are dating is the worst idea.

If they are a good enough friend, hot enough in bed, or a good enough girlfriend, give them the money - if they are really in need and you can afford it.

Every single loan will f---k up a friendship or relationship.

I have a weakness for hot pu--y. I am currently owed at least $3000 by 4 or 5 chicks. My choice has always come down to - get the money back or keep the friend.... I've always chosen the friend, but I still look down on them for borrowing and not paying..

Good luck.

I rarely loan to friends. If I do, it's an amount I'm comfortable eating.

With gambling friends, we loan to each other all the time. It's not uncommon for one of us to owe the other 25k+ - we track it and occasionally send money back and forth, but there is never a worry of not getting paid.

This is the correct answer. Never loan out money you cannot afford to lose.

Agree with Daringly on this

Loaning in a business relationship is completely fine.

Gambling at the amounts Daringly gambles is a business relationship.

One day Daringly wants to bet a game or play poker or whatever and he and his buddies are at their bank. They loan it to him. A few weeks later, they are at a casino where Daringly has a line of credit - he loans it to them... It can work the same way online.

I totally agree with this. I just will try to never loan money to friends for "non business" purposes... Just make it a gift...

Plus he or she will like you a lot better. NExt time some friend asks to borrow $500, just give it to him or her and see the reaction..

I make it my business, now in my life to never LOAN money. If I have it and depending on the situation, I give money to someone with no thought of repayment. If they ever give it back, wonderful if not then so be it. This approach has saved me from a lot of unneccesary headaches and confusion in my life.

No biggie

Fish, Gary Austin owes me 10K from his sports book scam. Would you like to purchase the 10k for a deeply discounted amount? If I ever see Austin in public I must make my intentions known. LT

I have several longtime friends who I would loan money to in a second & never sweat getting it back. Hell, I've carried some of them for months if not years at a time.

Obviously a tight group that has known each other for a long time.
