O.T- Does anyone take pain pills other than for a pain

ALL DRUGS DO DIFFERENT THINGS TO OTHER PEOPLE.JUST LIKE ZOLOFT. I KNOW MANY THAT HAVE LOST THIER MIND ON IT AND OTHERS THAT SAY THEY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT.

I AM WITH YOU ON THE VICODIN OR LORTABS.. I NEED THEM BECAUSE OF MY TORN ROTATOR CUFF IN MY LEFT SHOULD. I 'NEED' 5-6 10MG PILLS A WEEK... NOT DAILY AS MANY PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT ARE HOOKED ON THEM. THERE IS KNOW WHY I COULD EVER PLAY GOLF WITHOUT ONE OR TWO. BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN WHERE I TAKE 2-3 EVERY DAY. FOR ONE THEY WILL NOT HELP ME AT ALL IF I TAKE THEM DAILY. AND THEY GIVE ME A BAD HEADACHE THE NEXT DAY IF I TAKE MORE THAN 2.

BUT..........

JUST LIKE YOU THEY GIVE ME ENERGY. I NEED THEM EVERY WEEK OR SO WHEN I HAVE A BIG DAY AT WORK. IF I HAVE A BIG PRESENTATION I ALWAYS TAKE ONE.

** MY DOCTOR HAS JUST TOLD ME THAT I MUST HAVE SURGERY AND SHE CAN'T KEEP GIVING ME "ONLY 30" A MONTH...

I HAVE GONE TO ONE WEBSITE TO BUY THEM AND THEY JUST NOW STOPPED MAILING TO MY STATE... ANY HELP WITH THAT WILL BE HELPFUL....

finally someone else, was beginning to regret starting this. The last thing I want to come out of this is the The Ice Man is some low-life drug addict when nothing could be further from the truth, I am probably the most responsisbile, driven person I know.

Back to the topic. This is ALOT more common than most know and I was trying to open the eyes of some others. Just like the "drink" after work thing, which I could never do it would put me right to sleep, people use these for other things than pain and can handle their usage. This reminds of how people would react if they knew that I bet 2k a day, I'm sure that most would beg me to go to GA first thing in morning, but on this forum it is highly accepted and if I tried to explain this to them they would say you sound like you have a major gambling problem and need big time help and you are in denial, when nothing could be further from the truth.

Ice, I can relate exactly to what you are saying. We are in the minority but I see nothing wrong with it, probably drinking a couple cups of coffee is just as bad if not worse. I have a legal prescription and do take them mostly for real pain but been on them almost 10 years and never had the urge to move on to harder stuff. The sitting is what aggaravtes my back, prolonged sitting. It is a big reason I had to give up playing poker as much as I was. And yes they were everywhere, of the group back then I would say 75% of them took some sort of painkiller. You broke out a bottle of Percoset around the club you better watch your back getting to the car, LOL.

Anyway, just my opinion but I don't think it's a big deal. The people speaking up probably have the best intentions, unless you have been forced to take them a lot of your life you are probably going by the worst case situations you always hear about, not the quiet millions that take them without a problem. As always, all things in moderation.

I think like a lot of times, you are only hearing the most severe cases. That is why you only know about the problems. People don't often realize it's everywhere around them but it's only "news" when the trouble starts. It's like gambling and a lot of other things, if you don't do it then most people will warn you about the road to hell you are on. You made several good points and I thank you for them but that statement above is FAR from being truth IMO. I can tell you now just about every football player takes them or at least has had to take them some point in his career. Only one I know got hooked off hand is Favre, again only the problems are highlighted, not the millions who get relief and will never form an addiction that will leave them on the streets.

Even as a kid I remember taking Vicoden's in high school, much more than a few times a week, I had to take them 2 to 3 times a day. After healing I never touched them again until I got in a car wreck a few years ago. Anyway to me the problem is not the painkillers, it's the person taking them. Yes they are addictive and people should be warned but Ice doesn't sound like he will have a problem any time soon. Someone looking to get high and/or with an addictive personality might be in trouble, everyday Joe's who take them as they need them are not all going to end up addicts. Just my opinion of course.

all good points from past users, but i dont think its right for people to take things like this thinking its all good and ok.

smokey, i hope you get the rotator cuff surgery and get better soon. shoulder surgery is some of the most painful post op surgery i have seen (2nd to back surgery) but after a few days you are on your way. next door neighbor had it done as well and he still needed about 2 lortab a day. but now i think hes off, so there is luck.

and ice man, i am only trying to give what i have seen, not judging or accusing and i know i cant make anyone not do drugs, but it is sad to see how effected some people get from these drugs when they think NOTHING would ever happen to them.

I smoke Hydro...been doing that for years. I have 1-3 drinks a week...enough to calm me down sometimes. I also take 1-2 bars a week. Usually on Saturday night when I know i dont have to work in the morning...helps w/ my sleeping and it goes well w/ the dro.. I have done Coke, Meth, X, all that shit when I was younger but dont mess w/ that stuff anymore...would rather gamble w/ that $$

I take maybe 4-6 hydrocodone pills a week. A couple of years ago
i use to take more than that. I use them either when i have a
bad headache from lyme disease or when my legs ache so much from reffing to many
games. It's great cause your legs feel numb and they make u want
to run around more. Now mix it with a double dose of caffeine and
your flying high. When i drank beer with them i just want to sleep
though.

It takes longer to cum after a few hours on the hydrocone. Although
a Brazilian made me cum one time in about 90 seconds after i had 3 of them. That was a messed up day.

I bet you over 5%(probably higher) of the US population takes these or something simliar. My point is that it is being used alot more than people realizied. I know some very succesfull people who have told me they have used them in a similar fashion as I have described.

You know, I know/knew few people with drinking problem arising and they use exactly the same words.
