They didn't win millions? Do you have privy to information that the media doesn't?

is it possible it says nothing to you but something to others? You're taking this a little personal.....I'm sure it's probably the tip of the iceberg......with very little regulation and millions and millions of dollars involved....there's bound to be shananigans.....it's the American way.

"Winnings" is gross money won. That isn't really winnings. It isn't net.

I wasn't taking anything personal. I just think people like you read a soundbite and run with it. It isn't really your fault, it just has to do with the shock value/sensationalist times we live in.

Do you even think it should be legal? Do you think sports betting should be legal?

Again, employees can't play on other sites anymore. Do you want them publicly stoned? Would that help you sleep better at night?

So other than sensationalizing anything and everything you can, what do you want?

Ethan found insider trading, everyone up in arms. Ethan cleared, not a peep.

If independent investigation and employees not being allowed to play on other sites doesn't do it for you, then maybe don't play? Seems simple enough.

In reading stories about this guy being cleared. I've seen stuff like:

Draft Kings will not be releasing the report. The fact that it was touted as an independent investigation is marred slightly since the results are viewed only through the prism of draft kings press release.

Kinda like Matt Damon in The Depared trying to find Costellas rat I guess.

isnt this why you guys went nuts when NFL paid for investigators in deflategate?

Yeah if you think a high end law firm is risking their rep on covering up some 23 year old kid and a fantasy sports cheating scandal, then we'll just have to disagree. I can't really speak rationally to that type of skepticism.

You either take the report at face value or you don't. If DK is savvy enough to get that firm to be corrupt and protect ETHAN then more power to them, Jason Robins will probably be president soon.

i haven't followed it close. Both should be legal and regulated to avoid problems like this.

What about speaking to what Halekulani said about easy accessibility like online sports/poker/fantasy?

I don't necessarily agree with Shelden Adelson but when he calls online gambling the "crack cocaine" of wagering, I can't really argue with it. The people out there that will sit in line at a convenience store for 10 minutes just to play the lotto or scratchoffs, I don't know what the hell they would do if they could gamble with a few mouse clicks....

Also re: deflategate...I barely commented on that. However, the NFL getting Wells to see their side of the story is probably a little easier than DraftKings getting a law firm to do so.

I just think you get what you pay for me in most cases. I mean, if you don't think this kid had an advantage, well that's your opinion.

Only thing funnier than believing it was a independent investigation is believing the outcome of the so called independent investigation.

What incentive would the law firm have to lie? To protect fuckin Ethan? The kid is nobody.

You think DK paid them off? I can't prove they didn't but I highly doubt the firm is putting their rep on the line for fantasy sports.

If DK is that savvy then damn, maybe they can own the US Gov't too.

You really can't be this naive.

I can generate any type of report I want you to see and you will never know the difference, when you are self regulated you can do these things since you report to nobody.

The report isn't self-generated.

An independent outside firm does the investigating. If you think that firm is going to risk their reputation for Ethan with the national media all over the situation then I can't really convince you they aren't obviously.

That is a hell of a lot of risk to take. They must have a few partners who really like the site.

And you know this how or how this was even investigated for that matter, I hope your getting paid by the word by these clowns.

Dude, if you think the law firm is down to fudge info and commit corruption for the sake of DFS, then what do you want me to say?

As far as the industry overall, I said it's probably fucked since it is online gambling and the states won't be able to monetize like they can with other forms of gambling thus they pull out, etc.

I'm sorry I don't agree with every single thing you say.

Honestly the independent report was a waste of time to begin with if you have the slightest clue what these people are being accused of.

Its pretty simple and cut and dry.

Do you really need an independent investigation to figure out what Ethan did?

Honestly the guy had some info that was not available to the general public.

He took advantage of that information .

This is not rocket science .

Very easy to figure out what's going on here.

Its amazing how everyone has turned this into more then it really is.

He didn't have the info you think he had.

Regardless, that was all a red herring and if it wasn't that then it would've been something else. The sites have far bigger issues than Ethan-gate. Like the fact online sports betting isn't legal in the US. That is really all that matters.
