Hey winbet...

Sorry to hear about the passing of your father-in-law, losing someone is never easy and its even worse if the loss happens on or near a holiday because each and every year from that point onward the holiday will be associated with the loss.

Christmas is a bad time of the year for us as we lost our nephew who was only 26 years old to spinal cancer six years ago with his passing taking place on Christmas day itself, we struggled with the why's then and still struggle with the why's today, however, we have come to realize that he is in a better place and his suffering is over with...this we have found solice in, hopefully you and your family will as well.

take care

Marty still scares me. Remember the coaching debacle in the playoffs against Denver when he went with Elvis Grbac over Rich Gannon. That has to be the dumbest decision in coaching history
The weather makes this game unattractive for betting purposes. Who knows. I would rather bet one dont pass bet at the craps table and get it over with
That, along with Wade Phillips going with Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie back in Jan 00. We will always wonder what the hell were they thinking???

As far as this game, Chargers are on a roll right now. Jets seem down and out. They are one step below the best in the NFL.. They arent really a playoff level team.. Sorry Jets fans. If the Chargers are the team we saw all year, big victory tonight. Chargers 27-Jets 13

Hey Guys...

I'll add another DUMB move to the list, remember the 2001 AFC Championship game that had New England visiting Pittsburgh with the Steelers installed as 10 point home favorites?

Steeler RB Jerome Bettis had not played for 8 weeks due to injury, RB's Amos Zerowue and "Fu" ( sorry don't know how to spell his name! ) had been the running backs Pittsburgh used thru-out the latter part of the season and into the playoffs, with these two RB's the Steelers ground attack was almost unstoppable and was ranked at the top of the league in rushing hence the huge spread on the game itself.

Steeler head coach Bill Cowher elected to BENCH RB's Amos Zerowue and "Fu" and started RB Jerome Bettis instead, the end result was that both the offensive line and Jerome Bettis struggled with their timing and never got on track.

New England ended up winning with a blocked FG that was returned for a TD and also had a punt returned for another TD and ended up pulling the upset 24-17, the patriots then went on to the Super Bowl and upset the lambs as 14 point dogs!

take care

Hey Dante...

The reason I remember that game sooooooo well is because I had a futures ticket on the Steelers to win the Super Bowl that year, there I was sitting pretty with that futures ticket in hand and Pittsburgh a prohibitive 10 point favorite in the AFC Championship game thinking that life was gooooooood....oh well, we know how the story ended!

take care and good luck!

the biggest thing the jets will face is the charger fans. trust me this place is wilder than any place in the nfl or college.the fans here are rabid and they are loud.
You must be either joking or you must have not been to many football games outside of San Diego. Ever been to game at the Horseshoe with 104,000 die hard Buckeye fans? 110,000 fans at the Big House? 108,000 fans singing Rocky Top? For the NFL...go to a game in Cleveland at the Dog Pound, or Heinz Field in Pittbsurgh, or the Vet or Meadowlands. These are true fans who show up win or lose.

I live in So Cali and I know first hand the vast majority of fans here are so bandwagon and fair weather is sickening. Half of the time people here don't even know who the Chargers are playing on Sunday. That's one of the reasons Spanos is ready to move the Chargers to beging with. It wouldn't suprise me at all if some people don't show up at all because of the weather. A little rain out here and people stay home. Anything played in San Diego is far from intimidating. Come on now!

Great write up otherwise. Some nice information. Sorry, I had to laugh though when I saw that part.

Best of luck this weekend on your plays.

San Diego = THEE MOST UNDERRATED, UNDER THE RADAR TEAM IN THE NFL!!

NY Jets = ""Beep....Beep....Beep....Beep........" Thats the Jets "Backing" into the playoffs.

My personal opinion?? Hit the Chargers hard while you can. After this weekend every prognosticator, analyst, and sportswriter will be heralding San Diego as the dark horse favorite to make it to the AFC Championship! Mark my words.

If there was such a prop/future for San Diego minus whatever the number to make it to the AFC Championship, I'd lay a few units on it atleast.

I will be pounding San Diego heavy tonight. DIME minimum play.

if the heavy rain does show up then i think sd running game is at a distinct disadvantage so give the edge to jets...LT is a cut back very fast-footed runner...whereas both jets backs are more north-south types...better mudders...similarly the sd passing game will suffer more with the forecast heavy rain as brees can get it down field 20 yds. + to gates and gang...pennington just has not shown anything of consistentcy in regular season or prior years playoffs imo...going to see the conditions on pregame show b4 making a play..heavy rain would lean under and jets...usual rain or less...lean over and sd...

Hey winbet..

Isn't it odd how we remember so clearly the games that really cost us?

Take care and good luck!
