With Murray out, this was probably ultimately the Nuggets ceiling.

But I'll disagree somewhat with giving him that excuse. Guy played like a beast down the stretch without Murray and carried the team. And played very well in the first round series victory over the Blazers. The Blazers with all their weapons back were no slouch.

By his standards, he laid an egg in the Suns series. He did not personally play anywhere near his MVP level play against PHX. Regardless of his help.

Remember when the League vetoed the Chris Paul trade to the Lakers? I still can't believe that happened. When has a league ever stepped in like that and vetoed a trade because they thought it was too lopsided and not fair to the rest of the League? Off the top of my head I can't think of another time of that ever happening.

Today, the League obviously doesn't care. Durant to the 2x World Champs. No problem. AD to the Lakers. No problem. Harden to the Nets. No problem. Etc, etc.
