Typical flaming leftist, when losing an argument, start race baiting. So predictable.
Losing the argument?? Lmao....what's the score? It's impossible for you to ever win....your game plan stinks and gets exposed every time you use it.

So what about the award?? That's ESPN decision. Just like the Nobel prize for Obama. What dhould these guys say....no we can't accept the award because some people won't like it. Get a grip.

[h=1]Johns Hopkins Psychiatrist: Transgender is ‘Mental Disorder;' Sex Change ‘Biologically Impossible’[/h] <section id="block-system-main" class="block block-system clearfix"> By Michael W. Chapman | June 2, 2015 | 1:34 PM EDT

(CNSNews.com) -- Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry, said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” that merits treatment, that sex change is “biologically impossible,” and that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are collaborating with and promoting a mental disorder.
Dr. McHugh, the author of six books and at least 125 peer-reviewed medical articles, made his remarks in a recent commentary in the Wall Street Journal, where he explained that transgender surgery is not the solution for people who suffer a “disorder of ‘assumption’” – the notion that their maleness or femaleness is different than what nature assigned to them biologically.
He also reported on a new study showing that the suicide rate among transgendered people who had reassignment surgery is 20 times higher than the suicide rate among non-transgender people. Dr. McHugh further noted studies from Vanderbilt University and London’s Portman Clinic of children who had expressed transgender feelings but for whom, over time, 70%-80% “spontaneously lost those feelings.”
While the Obama administration, Hollywood, and major media such as Time magazine promote transgenderism as normal, said Dr. McHugh, these “policy makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention.”

“This intensely felt sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder in two respects. The first is that the idea of sex misalignment is simply mistaken – it does not correspond with physical reality. The second is that it can lead to grim psychological outcomes.”
The transgendered person’s disorder, said Dr. McHugh, is in the person’s “assumption” that they are different than the physical reality of their body, their maleness or femaleness, as assigned by nature. It is a disorder similar to a “dangerously thin” person suffering anorexia who looks in the mirror and thinks they are “overweight,” said McHugh.
This assumption, that one’s gender is only in the mind regardless of anatomical reality, has led some transgendered people to push for social acceptance and affirmation of their own subjective “personal truth,” said Dr. McHugh. As a result, some states – California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts – have passed laws barring psychiatrists, “even with parental permission, from striving to restore natural gender feelings to a transgender minor,” he said.
The pro-transgender advocates do not want to know, said McHugh, that studies show between 70% and 80% of children who express transgender feelings “spontaneously lose those feelings” over time. Also, for those who had sexual reassignment surgery, most said they were “satisfied” with the operation “but their subsequent psycho-social adjustments were no better than those who didn’t have the surgery.”

“And so at Hopkins we stopped doing sex-reassignment surgery, since producing a ‘satisfied’ but still troubled patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs,” said Dr. McHugh.
The former Johns Hopkins chief of psychiatry also warned against enabling or encouraging certain subgroups of the transgendered, such as young people “susceptible to suggestion from ‘everything is normal’ sex education,” and the schools’ “diversity counselors” who, like “cult leaders,” may “encourage these young people to distance themselves from their families and offer advice on rebutting arguments against having transgender surgery.”
Dr. McHugh also reported that there are “misguided doctors” who, working with very young children who seem to imitate the opposite sex, will administer “puberty-delaying hormones to render later sex-change surgeries less onerous – even though the drugs stunt the children’s growth and risk causing sterility.”
Such action comes “close to child abuse,” said Dr. McHugh, given that close to 80% of those kids will “abandon their confusion and grow naturally into adult life if untreated ….”
“’Sex change’ is biologically impossible,” said McHugh. “People who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women. Claiming that this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder.”

Even 2% would be bad. It's just gross.

I think people are more tolerant than ever towards LGBT issues but it is gonna be a slippery slope. If you keep shoving it in their faces and they can't even go to a mainstream website or turn on the TV without reading about it then people are going to think enough is enough.

I personally don't care what people do but changing genders doesn't need to be glorified.

its an issue that could save lives and help people be who they are....if you have to tolerate for a week or two I don't think it's that taxing. After all....Brady deflating balls was a top story everywhere for a long time and that doesn't have the impact this does.

Can't imagine they're gonna make someone as prestigious and accomplished as Gronk sit through that.

Should've given him the award for coming back from an ACL injury and leading the Pats to the bowl win.

What's more impressive, scoring on Seattle or chopping off your dick?

Save lives? I would argue it costs lives. Glorifying mental disorders is the epitome of stupidity, look at the suicide rate for transgendered people.

Now that someone like Jenner has come out....it will be more accepted by people who progress with the times. More acceptance will lead to less suicides. It's easy to find people who agree with your position but doctors have many different opinions on this and the ones you cite are usually Stone Age dudes

You will believe anyone who backs your whacky beliefs. That's just who you are....no ability to think and progress with the world. If you were born in the era of horse and buggy....you would be against automobiles. You are very limited person. Ohhhhhh look at me, I found a doctor that agrees with me, the thousands of others who don't I won't even consider. Good way to go thru life.

There's a doctor at Wake Forest University named Anthony Atala that is looking to fix kids that are born with abnormal sex organs, meaning not knowing whether its a man or woman.

I believe the doctors know if its a male or female from.the inner workings, but not from the sexual organs, so this doctor is working on fixing these kids that are born w/o a chance to live a normal healthy life.

Also, he's working with the military/govt to fix our troops that have come back home with limbs missing, genitalia missing, etc.......he stats that within 10 years, a man with genital problems will be able to grow his own penis from stem cells I'm a lab, & attach it to his body, its already been done to rabbits years ago & they were able to have sex a few weeks after attaching a penis grown in a lab......

Anyway, my point is, the technology is getting better, & should be used on damaged adults, children being born abnormal, etc......

But, a person like Bruce that lived like a man 65 years of his life, had kids, was married several times, etc.....shouldn't be allowed to change their sexual organs......I have to say its a mental disorder.

Its one thing to be born a certain way, or lose your family jewels in war, etc.....& have hope to correct it.

Everyone should live a happy life, but where do we draw the line?

Our society is based on certain moral foundation, etc.....of course not everyone follows them.

As we progress towards the future, you are telling the above poster that he should change with the changing "people"......social media, TV & the internet is changing peoples minds, they're being brainwashed, & have been for several decades.

So now we're supposed to accept that transgenders are "normal"......& straight people are the ones that aren't normal.

It seems that when normal society doesn't accept the craziness of our worlds changes, like with transgenders, that the normal people are looked at as abnormal........this is when you know the future of this world is fvked.

Who gives a shit. If a guy wants tits and a pussy, he pays for it, and someone provides the service, it's none of my business. For all you guys complaining it's on your yahoo feed, then turn off you computers. The truth is both sides are obsessed with this story, and that's why the media covers it.

Why? I don't want to turn off my computer. I like using it.

"Who gives a shit" is 100% how I feel about this. Live and let live. Did you read the rest of my post? I don't care about this at all.

I'm the last person to make a big deal out of an issue like this, but it doesn't mean I wanna see it all the time or hear it being celebrated like it is some crowning achievement for mankind.

A 65 year old man with 6 kids becoming a woman isn't something I'm interested in hearing about and I don't wanna look at the Vanity Fair cover everytime I load a mainstream webpage because it is kinda gross.

I'm fine with LGBTQINC17PERVORPWS issues or whatever it is but they're going a bit far in the celebration.

You think JJ Watt, Marshawn Lynch and Gronk wanna see this dude get a courage award? They're probably thinking "WTF is this bro doing"

That must be one huge clit.
Haha

That's almost as funny as those subtle claims that Old Man Wilbur keeps dropping him about only being in his 50's......Wilbur was in his 50's probably 30 years ago.
