For those of you that may be interested, Northcoast released four plays today at 11:30 a.m. EST. They were as follows:

4* Cincinnati +3.5 (-120)
3* Miami +3.5
3* Oakland -3
3* Indianapolis -4

As usual, serious line movement occured within minutes thereafter.

Ted how are you today? Is northcoast that good or is it the amount of followers that has the line moving drastically?

Moon88:

Northcoast is not having a particularly good preseason so far this year but over the past decade or so, have been pretty solid in preseason.

I believe the reason for so much line movement when they release a play is because, not only of past preseason success, but because they have over 10,000 subscribers to their primary newsletter Power Sweep and with a subsciption, customers receive two weeks of their preseason late phone releases. It is the customers choice which two weeks they wish to choose. Many choose the last two weeks but many choose the first two weeks. Either way, with that many customers calling in and then making their plays, the lines move rapidly right after call in time. I know of very few other services, if any, that offer something like this for preseason for free, thus with so much money on one side, the books have to adjust the line.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Just like any other information or selections posted here on the RX, none are a certainty. Trust your own judgment and don't let anyone sway you from your own choices. You will be much farther ahead in the long run. Better luck today and in the future.

BLUE: I was on the Giants too. Eli Manning's 0.00 QB rating sure didn't help out. Not to mention fumbling and throwing the ball to the wrong team. Rookie just fell apart.

TED: I got the same selections today from NC that you did! So did my friends in Florida, Ohio, Toronto, France and California. How can THAT be, ToMone???

At one time I was a subscriber to the Power Sweep newsletter....I found a lot of interesting reading inside.....they do put a lot of work into that thing.....

I used it mainly as another opinion about the outcome of games....used the 'net and the forums and picked the brains of some guys that I know that bet on a regular basis...in the end it was up to me to decide on what games to bet, how much, or even whether or not to step out on them at all. The only person in the end that I could blame for a bad bet was myself. No one ever had a gun to my head demanding I visit an offshore and place a bet......whatever mistakes I made were decided by myself, and that is still the case today.

The guys that claim to have lost money from other peoples picks fail to realize that they themselves made the bet, there are no "locks" out there....for every "Game of the Year" there are a bunch of cappers on the other side of that pick also. You as the bettor decide your own betting strategy and are stuck with the aftermath of it, good or bad, you made the bet.

As far as the claims of Northcoast selling both sides of a game....I will echo what others have already stated, that they must have an incredible system in place that would insure that no two subscribers compare notes and find out they've been dealing both sides....I never found anything that even gave me a clue that they were playing both sides of the fence...

Marco, you are Right On! It has taken me a long time to realize that after getting all of the info that you can, YOU have the ultimate decision on what to do. The one + of getting older is that you do become a LOT WISER! And I am wiser for it. LT

oldmanted...thanks for the specifics of NCS...i do subscribe to power sweep and get his college review magazine as i find this to be good statistical info...etc...i do call his local line for daily selections such as pac 10 play of the week...earlybird play...etc...my purpose of following ncs is simply to find a trend in which phil is hot...as i do think the guy is stright-up and not in the category of a scamdicapper...he does at times stretch the rubber band by adding years of selections to make the win % in his favor or vice-versa...thus i record his plays...be they opinions...or whatever info i can get on *-rated plays...short of paying $2-$3k/year...he does provide prior days outcomes as well...on a recored message...so simply look for trends where i think there is value...then i will move forward with plays...usually ncs is 1-2 plays per week for me as i always look to you and others for selections...i rely upon finding trending cappers as a method of wager...gl this season and again thanks for taking the time...oh and like the crap table...I DO NOT FADE OR PLAY THE DON"T...ALWAYS POSITIVE...

Thank you so much oldmanTED for all your info.

I have been folowing NCSports for a few years now and was wondering, with all his success and money comming in from Power Sweep, if just maybe Phil has lost his desire to put in as much work handicapping as he once did?

I was also wondering if you would share with us what services you thought were better than NCSports, because I would be interested in checking them out.

Thanks in advance.

Pettvegas:

I'm glad that you found the information on Northcoast Sports useful. Regarding any service that I personally might think is superior, I would truly prefer not to endorse any service, including Northcoast, as it would be presumptious and improper for me to do so. Plus, I would feel responsible to anyone who chose to follow on my recommendation. What I can provide is a website that does monitor those services that pay a fee to be monitored and you can review their previous year's records. Some have said this site is not accurate. I can only say that I am aware that the records of at least a few of the services choosing to be monitored that I am familiar with were in fact accurate, including Northcoast. The monitoring site is shown below:

Best of luck to you this football season.
