Back to back days where it looked like I had a real shot to sweep the board. Buffalo gave up a goal with a minute left yesterday and then lost in OT. Vegas was up 3-2 and gave up two goals in the final minute and a half to lose in regulation. Hopefully, I can benefit from finishes like that as often as I’m on the wrong side of them as the season progresses.

October 29th
Kings -1.5 (+100), 1*
Maybe taking the weekend off helped me. Much needed 2-0 night. Carolina did their best to blow that game. Fortunately, Aho took care of business in OT. The Sharks stink. They got their first win of the season tonight by scoring three goals in a 1:50 span late in the third. And then tacked on the game winner in overtime. I don’t think that’s a sign that a winning streak is on the horizon. The Kings five wins are all against teams who are .500 or have a losing record. The Sharks fit nicely into that group and could fatigue as the game wears on. They will also be playing their backup goalie which is an added benefit for the Kings. GL

The way people are betting, you would think they know Seattle is going to win. At this price, I will take Montreal. The Flyers goaltending has been horrible and Korpisalo is in net for Boston. By the way, Kings are 8-0-1 in their last nine against the Sharks. Just a stat to bolster my Kings bet. GL

I think Jim Montgomery is close to being fired. He is in the final year of his deal. The Bruins didn’t extend him in the off-season. Part of me thinks they are trying to wait a little longer so they don’t waste the new coach bump in October. But if they go 0-2 on this road trip against Carolina and Philly, I think he gets relieved of his duties. The Oilers and Bruins are not this bad and will turn it around at some point in the near future. Let’s hope that near future is tonight. GL and Happy Halloween.
