First of all there is no prize for the College Bowl Challenge ( I am not sure who said there was) I certainly never stated there was one...For the most part these 'challenges' are for news matter and future reference to see who is good at what...Sorry if somehow you were under the impression there was some sortive prize for being the top player in the Bowls....

Second, I do not know what the poster known as 'Anthony Richkass' did when he edited something, apparently he has his own agenda...

Third, About unit values...WHILE I COMPLETELY AGREE ALL PLAYS SHOULD BE BASED ON THE SAME VALUE others have frowned on this...So for the playoffs I have allowed unit value fluctuation....But the actual won/loss record is still the most important IMO... I try to please everyone and hear all sides but, with a forum of 1000`s there are going to be differing points of view....Whichever way I rule its going to be not good enough for someone...

Thank you for responding to my inquiry and extending your invitation to compete in the NFL Playoff Contest as well.

Just a brief comment. I reviewed the archived thread regarding the College Bowl Contest dated December 16, 2003 at 3:21 p.m. and I must admit I'm a bit confused. The title of this contest was "Bowling For Dollars" and sponsored by www.BetPanAm.com. If there was not to be any prize fund then what was the reasoning behind the title of the contest and what exactly is www.BetPanAm.com sponsoring?

I think most posters here know that I am not one to create any trouble, but I must tell you that I am disappointed in this development as it certainly appears to be very misleading. I think for the good of the forum it would be appropriate if you could explain what exactly "Bowling For Dollars" and sponsored by www.BetPanAm.com meant in your original thread. I feel a response is owed to the contestants as well as the forum. In this oldman's view, credibility is at stake here. I very much would appreciate a response to try and clear up this matter.

I will however continue to post my selections in the NFL Playoff Contest but not with the enthusiam that I had before learning of this development. Sincerely, OldmanTed

again there was never any mention of any prize...Bowling For Dollars was the title of the thread (thats it).....BetPanAm.com SPONSORS the monitoring of poster picks, thats all...I have ran several well paid contests and this was not one of them, that is why there was no prize money rules thread....Again the records are kept to try to monitor poster`s from padding records, some find that important...also, there are many many contests all over these boards and when there is a prize at stake it, clearly states that....if you would rather not be monitored I will ask someone else...these forums and record keeping are to help the gamblers, not start flame wars...I can assure you its not worth all the aggravation I am getting the past few days....

Just want to bring this up ahead of time. If the Panthers win by 3, several entrants will push and a few will win because they choose to use -2.5, which I undersand is available at Intertops (-2.5 -130). I don't believe this is fair, but hopefully it will be a non-issue if the games does'nt fall. btw. I chose -3 because it is a consensus line, not to mention I have never played at Intertops. What we really need are universal lines like those used in the hockey contest. The same numbers for everyone is only fair. IMHO.

My score in "Bowling for Dollars" was 17-11 yesterday when YOU posted the standings. I made two picks yesterday Ohio St. +7 and the over in that game winning both. Now today you posted my record as being 19-17. What's going on?

I just want to add something here, and probably wont be too popular...But i too never thought there were any prizes in the other, that is why i took over the excess that couldnt be graded....I assumed Bowling for Dollars, meant see what posters are making $$$$$$$...

The sponsored by BetPanam has been the sig line for the scorekeeper since he started, not just for this contest....

Also, for those of you dissappointed there were no prizes, please keep this in mind when u see some fellow posters bashing books about the contests, over silly stuff, and over lack of prizes....That is what makes it harder for us to bring you contests....I know that the scorekeeper, Gmoney, RPM, The General, Journeyman, and Myself, try to get sponsors and bring fun, moneymaking contests here...But you can't blame a book for passing, when some posters blast them no matter what...Many books realize the benefit to the contests, that is why we have the best ones on the net....But it doesnt help when we are shopping, to have some of our constant posters bashing contests, the books, etc....

By no means am i implying that you did this oldman, i know you havent, i am just speaking in general....

JinnRikki- you went 2-5 on Jan 1....Also i answered you in your thread...what I think happened was you saw an updtae by Anthony Richkass where he updated his own record ONLY, and left all other records one day old....Either way I would think you would have realized you went 2-5 on Jan 1...


Co Capt and OLDMANTED , again you must have gotten cnfused with one of the contests being ran by someone else...there was NEVER any mention of a 1st ,2nd, or 3rd prize for this...

RX, then what is it that BetPanAm is sponsering. And for what reason, if not to award someone something. Are they sponsoring you for monitoring a contest, in which you then advertise their name. Hey, if so then thats cool. Just dont be making offers of awards to us to get us to enter. I know what I saw, and that is the only reason why I entered in the contest in the first place. Other than that, I have no reason to enter. OldmanTed, is not someone who is unaware of what goes on around here as he has been around the game, probably longer than most of us here.
