I keep seeing people sat the Chargers should not be on playoffs. Really? Why? They won their final 4 games and 5 of last 6 including 4-0 in division. They beat Denver inthe road and KC twice!! Other teams had their chances and blew it. The Chargers did what they had to do down the stretch when it counts. They deserve to be where they are because they earned it.

Which I will add to Nick's comment ... The missed 41 yard FG by KC... there should have been a Flag on SD, which meant a re-kick for 36 yards

Would he have made the 36 yarder ?? we will never know... be the % would be High.

There was another call in that game as well that went against KC... I forget what it was.... But Yes.... SD doesn't belong in the Playoffs

Agree with OP. Why does it matter they didn't win their division? They won more games than GB and should be awarded home field advantage. Winning a division shouldn't matter - it really makes no sense. I think the better team will win but o well

it's the way the Platform is... They don't do it Baseball either, why should they do it here ?

A better complaint is the NFL outclassing the AFC. Arizona would be a 3-4 seed in the AFC and are out of the playoffs totally.

If winning the division doesnt matter than why do teams play divisional opponents twice ? ... Of course winning the division matters , thats the whole point of the process.

You might get your wish, NFL is exploring expanding playoffs from 12 to 14 teams and re-seeding the teams
12 to 14 teams in the playoffs. It would be interesting to see how many games in a row my stupid Cowboys would have to lose at the end of the season to miss the PO.s

Once every 10 years a wild card has a great record and now they need to change the whole system. C'mon.

Looks like next year they are going to add two teams to the playoffs. They'll keep adding teams until the Cowboys get into the playoffs.

At first I did not like the idea, but change my mind now, seems okay.

With 14 teams, 2 top seeds get byes. Therefore in the first week of the playoffs, there will be six games, and six surviving teams plus the 2 byes. The first week of the playoffs would then be Saturday, Sunday, Monday Night Football.

That bye week in first round does not seem to have made much of a difference for those teams. They could probably tinker with that and not see much of a difference.

What I do not like to see changed under any circumstances is the seeding in the playoffs. The division winners should always get the home games.

There is no reason to change it, it is fine as it is. It makes it interesting I feel.

If seeding was so damn important, they should get rid of the playoffs and Superbowl and go by record and tiebreakers to determine a Champion, they could even have a vote. The number 1 seed only has to win two games at home and they are in the Superbowl. How ofter has that happen over the years? Half the time? Or not often at all.

Also, the extra team making it into the playoffs means more meaningful games late in the season, and that is always a plus.
