I'd lay -3000 that this rumor is full of hot air.

No one wants to trade up. There are no can't miss prospects. It's not a big drop from Stafford to Sanchez, not a big drop from Curry to any of the other DL's, and not a big drop for any of the OTs.

Only way Detroit trades down is if they scrap the "draft value" sheet.

First off, neither Smith or Monroe are any good. Read scouting reports from REAL scouts, not ESPN and NFL Draft ____ .com. I'd rather have Andre Smith than either of those two.

We've got Backus who is serviceable and we drafted a tackle in the first round last year. Our guards are a much bigger need than our tackles and have been so for years.

In addition, MLB is a bigger need than OT, probably the largest need on our team. The best player in this draft is a MLB. The only other position we would take is a QB if they believe there is a franchise QB available (there isn't).

they arent trading the pick...its simple...they are taking the guy they can sign before Saturday...meaning, whoever is the cheapest...they are negotiating with the agents of Curry and Stafford...its a bidding war for whoever comes the cheapest...its that simple! :toast:

If they're smart they will take Curry. Even though he will be highly overpaid for a linebacker, I can't see him not being an impact player in the league. He might not be a superstar, but barring injury, he will be a pro-bowler for several years.

I could definitely see Stafford busting in Detroit. The guy will get killed mentally and physically behind that awful line. Plus it doesn't make sense for them to drop that kind of coin on a guy who will probably sit for a year, and then be on on the job training for at least another.

They need to fix that defense first, it was the worst I ever saw last year. Curry can step in right away and would be a huge upgrade.
