This weeks EMO's.

They were 1-3 last week, but still a respectable 10-8 overall.

Some of the teams this year are so terrible I'm not sure if the emotional factors can overcome their field performance as they have done in the past.

We will have to keep an eye on these.

Watching the EMO's is usually a pretty good window right into the heart of contrarian NFL perception and reality.

In other words...these are still professional teams...no matter how bad they seem to be...there should start to be a lot of value in some of these dogs.

There is just no way to polish this turd...and I'm not going to try.

So far...this has been F'ugly.

I'll keep working the system, we also have the EMO's here...and I'm working on a long time project for a power ratings system that predicts ATS wins.

My goal is to have the Computer picks, continue with the EMO's and refine a Power Ratings system probably by next week, after week 6.

Hopefully, each year...something will always be hot...or at least good enough to get us through the rough spots like this year when one system is not performing.

It's all good...having a bad year (so far) only motivates me to bring in more weapons into our arsenal. Some of you guys are much too pessimistic around here. :103631605

Please remember...when you find yourself getting really pissed off over losses...it's the gambling gods telling you...you are betting too much for your personal comfort level.

It's your inner voice bitching at you....see it's not me...it's you.
Personally, I find broken TV remotes are the best indicator of all, and I find them very useful for fine tuning my wagering amounts until they don't get broken anymore. :toast:

But seriously...I'm in it for the long long haul. Not everything works all the time. But we will keep looking for what works most of the time...and try to have a few of those types of systems in our arsenal here.

It's a war...not a battle. Just don't get blown up or blown out... and live to fight another day. I haven't raised the white flag yet but be careful here until we see if things bounce back or not.

Yes...I don't like that too much but that is the way it worked out this week.

It's very very unusual for that to happen. I don't know what it means either...there are good reasons to take either team.

So yes...each of you will have to decide for yourself.

I report...you decide.

The system doesn't avoid the National games or Monday night games.

I have learned to avoid them from observation...other than possibly a starting QB injury or very special situation...that is the only manual over ride I will do.

I agree. a few weeks out of one season means very little. Good handicapping is proven over the long haul and MJ is a great handicapper with his systems. Plus, I would expect that a system that relies on data like this one gets better at this point in the season.

But since you are reevaluating, I thought I'd bring this back. The system, at least the 5 game system, has been putting out plays in the night games every week with some tough results. This week is no different. Are you looking at anything there.

I hear what you are saying...but I am boxed in without any alternatives to the National televised games this year.

In the past, I could over ride the National televised games and go with the next best system pick...and it seemed to work out well.

But what is different this year...is that I don't have anything else that even qualifies as a system pick.

Just wondering. The night games haven't treated us well, but two of them should have been winners (Miami v. Indy and the Indy/AZ over). It probably evens out over time.

Unfuckinbelievable in that minny game.. WOW! Should be 2-0 instead we finish the early games 1-1... Losses like that make me want to break things.

Let's cash the next ones.

I'm following MJ's Pick 5

Safe to say the Pats -9.5 is a winner... Titans are just BRUTAL.
