Very good BK. yes lets hope he does well. Thank you for all the time you give to this thread. Take care my friend!

You are welcome sports nut. The first week is a little work, but after that it takes just a few minutes a day.

------

Hopefully more people will be posting newsletters, newsletter records, newsletter analysis including spotting some positive runs, pictures of your naked girlfriend, pictures/videos of the Supreme Leader or your favorite baked beans recipe. Anything goes in the Rubber Room, but we don't want to post Sports Reporter as the one negative comment (which quickly disappeared) posted in the thread was from their editor. However Sports Reporter is a good source of fade plays, especially late in the season in the NFL.

Thanks! We should see Red Sheet eventually. maybe someone will post them. I believe Pointwise and Red Sheet are written by the same editor. Over the years they have been pretty good and I know of one guy that runs a big handicapping service who swears by them. But they didn't seem all that hot last year, maybe they will be better this year. Good luck FATTYB83!

Going with CKO for the newsletter thread picks in the regular season

Echoing my sentiments on Pointwise, another newsletter thread poster (who knows what he is talking about) commented on Pointwise below. For the newsletter thread picks, we will be giving our sports monitor the CKO (Confidential Kick-Off) picks. I will post the remaining preseason trend picks from Marc Lawrence's Preseason Playbook tomorrow, as the sports monitor has not put up the Giants/Patriots game yet.

10 Newsletter Thread Plays for Thursday, Sept. 2

I posted 10 newsletter picks for Thursday to the Rx Newsletter Thread sports monitor. I did not include the Giants/Patriots game as they did not have that on their board. The preseason NFL trend bets so far have been a disappointing 6-10.

NFL Preseason Trend Bets - From Marc Lawrence's Playbook Preseason Issue, 8 plays :

I've seen CKO have bad years as well. I thought Winning Points was good, but you squashed that.Doesn't sound like you can tail any of these blindly!!

Most of the newsletters are bad. They have no better clue about things than the Las Vegas oddsmakers. Betting CKO's top plays with the same unit on each play is probably as good a strategy as any other.

Last year Marc Lawrence got on a nice streak at the end of the college season. He has a weekly podcast that is posted here. You could tell he was getting hot.

Newsletter Thread Bets - Results for Thursday, Sept 3

9-17 on the season

The Newsletter Thread Bets yesterday went 3-7, with CKO going 0-2 in college and the preseason trend bets went 3-5 bringing them to a disappointing 9-15 for the year.

Newsletter Thread Bet for Friday - UNDER 73 1/2 Baylor/SMU game . This is a CKO pick: "TOTALS: UNDER (74) in the Baylor-SMU Game [Friday]—It usually takes both teams scoring to crack a total this big; if Baylor’s defense (9back) is truly improved, Mustangs won’t help much..."
