Hospitals receive an average $13,000 from the emergency Cares Act funding for patients that have a Covid-19 diagnosis (which could be anywhere on the list of 2-5 diagnoses). Doesn’t matter if you directly, indirectly, or not at all suffer from it. If patient is put on ventilator they get around $40,000, again, does not matter if they are put on it as a direct result of Covid-19. Fishy numbers out there. The incentive to fib to get their hands on the billions in aid are rather tempting to say the least. Especially when hospitals are losing millions to the bottom line each day.
