The criteria seem a bit erratic, maybe veterans can't afford to live in NY ,and go elsewhere.

Jury duty is for fools, or those that want a break from their real job at full pay.

I can see NH topping the list...

Live free or die on her license plates !

NYC has the highest homeless vet population in the country.

New Hampshire is a great state no sales tax . Minimal social services . No fault car insurance. Truly a hidden gem.

Out of curiosity, crime is low right? Poverty is low?? Is that correct??

What percentage of the state is black?? Mexican? Muslim??

That is right. 94% white

Red States should be more patriotic because most are heavily subsidized by the federal government.

I never spent any time there but there is about a 20 mile stretch of interstate you drive through going North to Maine, so I've been in NH. I imagine VT is quite similar, and yes greatest one northern New England is about as white as it gets, blacks tend to congregrate in cities, there is no city of any consequence North of Boston. I do feel a black person would be treated fairly in these parts if a black chose to live there, it's not like the Confederate states and slavery and good ole Boys named Bubba.

However in my final 15-20 years ?, I am looking to relocate from coastal southern CT to somewhere warmer, not colder, that is affordable and at low risk of things like hurricanes, wildfires, etc.

That makes the Eastern seaboard from NC to FLA risky but affordable , same for most of coastal gulf states including Texas. California could work lived there in the 80's for about 5 years, too expensive and crowded now.

I could go back to somewhere, I've lived before like Colorado, cold but great people.

The most realistic and affordable , familiar, inexpensive, warm, smallish....not quite big city option would be Las Vegas, NV,but I don't really want to go back there, I'd prefer somewhere new to me, maybe Tennessee or somewhere like that, I'd rather not stay in CT for the rest of my life, but probably will ?

In all my years of contemplating where to live, the thought of a wildfire or hurricane has never crossed my mind.

Yes on interstate 95 In New Hampshire it goes quick and boom your in Maine. Portsmouth is a nice town . They got a large historical society very well kept. If you get a chance drive up the kangamangus highway through the presidentials worth the trip. If you got young kids even teens weirs beach up on the lake a good time

As a kid I spent my summers on a lake in the middle of New Hampshire. Swimming, boating, waterskiing, hunting, fishing, exploring swamps and woods. Took many trips along the Kancamagus. Hiked all through the White Mountains. It's friggin beautiful.

Worked too. 10, 11, 12, 13 yrs old with my year older brother building rock walls and hauling trees from the woods to saw and split for the fireplace. Some of those rocks and trees weighed hundreds of pounds. We got it done. Not sure how as I look back. But good healthy work.

Never knew how lucky I was when I was a kid. Know now. New Hampshire is beautiful. Great state.
