Stax I definently have an inconsistent swing... I hit my irons much better than my woods which has nothing to do with my knees... I'm going to get fitted at my local pro golf this week. The owner of that store is so awesome. He has a set of 2006 Big Berthas irons that caught my eye and he is going to let me hit them for a week... I haven't even thought about working the ball. Way too early for that. At this point I get over the ball and think head down and tempo.. I'm ready to get fitted, re shaft them, and I'm going with some Winn Dri tac grips..

Packer we do have a pro who has giving me some tips but the one thing I've learned over the years is that most gamblers play golf.. Ill be damned if Matt has come through with the best 3/4 pro in the country. Can't wait to pick his mind. All of the guys I play with understand.. They'll give me hell but they'll understand.. My knees are different everyday... Some days they're flat terrible and some days they are okay... I am enjoying the hell out of it right now. Like any competitor I look forward to the challenge.

Def keep playing man - I have been mediocre the last few years (only started playing a few years back) but I can kill my irons but cant hit a 3 wood or driver to save my life. I played today and was about 160 out on a par 4 when i hit my 7 iron flush. I saw the ball bounce twice but couldnt see where it ended up. Ended up spending 5 minutes looking for the ball in the rough around the green before realizing the ball was in the hole. Got to love golf

Okay I went out and played the front 9 today from the whites today. It is the much easier side. The 4 of the 5 toughest holes on the course are all on the back nine. I shot a 10 over 46.. I had 2 pars, 5 bogeys, 1 double bogey, and a Fn triple. I 3 putted the Double bogey... The triple was on a 175 yard par 3 with a very elevated tee box, with water surrounding the front and both sides of the green. I pulled through (not hooked) my tee shot right into the water... The drop zone is 50 yards from the middle... I thinned the shit out of it to the rough in the back of the green.... Made a decent chip to 8 feet and of course missed the putt for the ole 6. It was a very fun day. I cut it short because the ole knees were tender as hell.

My group and I are playing in a 2 day 4 man scramble this weekend... Man I can't wait because its going to be so much fun. I'm really going to work on my 120 in game this week and going to hit the practice green pretty hard... Hopefully I can contribute in that fashion. My short game and putting use to be really solid. I should be able to get it back to being good with a little work.. That's the only part of my game that isn't brand new. At first I was having trouble with being so much shorter than I use to be. I may get to hitting the ball some further but ill never be "long" again... My lower half just can't take to much torque... In the last couple weeks I've really embraced the new swing. I am very pleased with my first 3 rounds. I use to be a decent golfer so I probably shouldn't be pumped about a 98 and 46 but I am. I think my irons will continue to get better as will my short game but I have to find a way to get off the box better.

Man Congrats on the Eagle brother.. That had to be a great feeling!!! I've never hit a hole in one or an eagle on a par 4. I've been close to the hole in one... I've eagled a par 5 before on a 40 yard pitch shot.

I'm having the same problem. I can't get off the box with any consistency. Ill hit some down the middle here and there but I just feel awkward and uncomfortable when I'm getting ready to swing... Now I'm not launching my irons as far as distance but I am striking the ball well almost every time with any iron.. I hope to get a little better off the box soon. I'm also hoping to find some more distance out of my irons... A 160 yard shot like yours would be a 4 or 5 iron for me right now.

Keep up the good work, Hot. Best wishes Man!

I have been fortunate to get to play some great courses over time. Pebble, Pinehurst #2, TPC Sawgrass...golf is a great game.

Playing Shadow Creek and taking friends was great. Such a super place back when Steve Wynn had it before they started allowing so much play.

I promise you fellas I am not going to post after every round I play lol. I know you guys could give 2 shits about my scores. I would like to tell you guys thanks for taking time to give me your advice and opinions. Matt ill keep you posted on what I hear from the guys at the academy. Ill probably post in here every once in a while how I'm coming a long.

I also decided to play from the whites when my knees are having a good day. I'm going to be playing with my dad a good bit. He plays from the senior tees and when I'm going to tee it up with from the senior tees. So ill get the best of both worlds... I look forward to having some more normal shots into the greens and will be pumped to be able to actually hit a short iron lol..

Hopefully my knees will hold up good enough. A ton of people have a lot more serious problems than me and I've been very blessed..... but don't take your health for granted... I went from playing softball, golf, pick up hoops, and tennis to not being able to hardly walk and having 9 surgeries in a 5 year period.. I'm having an absolute blast getting back to playing and competing in a sport again. I hope each and everyone of you keep having a great time playing a great game.. Thanks again.

Stack and Tilt is the easiest swing theory on the body. It incorporates a 3/4 swing in the model and is as pie to learn. Do a search on the theory and you will be happy I'm sure.

Good luck to you....enjoy the game from the shorter tees....you are out there to have fun....

Problem is that there are other golfers out there who should be joining you....too many hacks playing the blue and black tees....
Agree 100% with this post. I've been playing golf almost 50 years and always have had a 3/4 swing. My stepdad who was a PGA club pro taught me the game and one thing he always told me was the longer the backswing, the bigger chance for you to make a mistake. A short compact swing has worked well for me over the years.(I've held a 6 or less handicap my entire life). The game we play at my club has a group of guys of all different skills and we use 3 sets of tees. The top players play the blues, average guys play the whites and lesser golfers or anyone 60 or over plays the green tees(I get to move to green tees next year if I wish but will probably stay on white). Just play the tees you feel most comfortable with and enjoy your game.

I got fitted for clubs and bought me a new set of the Black Ci11 Wilson irons 4-PW and got a great deal from my local guy on some lightly used CG 16 wedges .. 52, 56, 60.... I'm also hitting Adams 2&3 hybrids... My driver is Adams XTD 10.5 that allows me to change my degree by 1.5 either way... And I'm using a old school oddyssey 2 ball putter... Re-gripped every club with winn dri tac... The Ci11 are beautiful clubs and I really like them... They have good feel and are extremely forgiving... I decided to not carry a true 3 wood or 5 wood. I hit the hybrids very well and use them on many tboxes... I am getting more use to my driver and have it set on my highest loft... The wedges have good feel so far... I broke 90 Monday of this week. Shot a 88 with 2- 3 putts. With saying that I did sink a 30 footer for par... The hybrids have been great for most tee boxes and I really love the way I hit them... My short game is getting better and better but I'm still trying to get the putter stroke going.. Some days better than others but I'm really working on it... My around the green chipping has come back nicely.. I'm still having problems on the touch shots... The 40-50 yard pitch shot def needs my attention. Sometimes I'm right on it but a lot of the times I'm still leaving a 20-30 foot putt which is awful.

Good news is my knees are holding up well. I'm not playing many back to backs so that helps... I'm having a blast on the course and with my friends! On the 18th on Monday a par would of gave me an 87 but I missed a 8 footer for par and bogeyed... Just wanted to let you guys know that I broke 90... I'm excited about that.. The new goal is to get it it to 85 without going over 90 again... What I love about it is even after the 88 I look at my card and realize I left several shots on the course.... Could of very well of shot 84... If I can get my short pitch game and putting going I will score.. Thanks for all your advice and support.... Note: I haven't played a round from the forward tees yet.. Hope all is well and I'm ready for football!!!!
