Starving Student:

This business takes many years to be successful in the long run and time doesn't even guarantee being successful.

The best thing you can do is use your tuition money for college, and get the very best education your money will allow you and put your effort into studying and finding work on the side as future employers look to see if you have done any work while getting your education. If not, you will be way behind those that have and will find work in your field hard to obtain. Spend your time today building toward your future, not gambling. You have little chance to succeed with a great deal to lose toward your future.

"The best way to break a bad habit is not to start one."

Look, try making picks w/o betting for the first YEAR...yes, that's right at least a year. See if you have any skills. Read this forum everyday. Try and learn something before betting real money.

And don't..I repeat DON"T EVER pay a handicapper for his picks! They don't know any more than most experienced amateurs--and most times--much less.

Good luck. If you become successful, like me, it can be a lot of fun and very rewarding!

This guy isn't reallya student. He was just trying to get a couple of solid answers on the legality of gambling on the internet and put a twist on it that would draw attention. It worked drawing attention but didn't really accomplish any real answers to the main question as to how legal this is. Scarlett or anyone. Do you know which states are included in those twelve that you mention as having concrete laws? Thanks in advance if anyone can help on this question.

being a bettor you do not violate statutes 1084 or 1952. A customer of a bookie must do something more than bet, helping out with lines would be one that would get you in trouble. State laws you are on your own.

Again, what are the states with the stringent laws on internet gambling?

I always forget them.

This story at the start of the thread makes me laugh harder every time I read it. "Watching my sister win hundreds of dollars the past month" is funny as hell.

To all who helped ESPECIALLY-

Chalk, Marco, Sports Savant, Jim Feist Sux Old Man Ted and Royal

i have read your responses and I realize that the majority of you guys think that I should not try this gambling thing. as of now I have decided to forgo my "hunch" and just "plod" along with school. I really could not afford to lose my tuition money. It's only a State School, but my family's budget is limited. I'm going to continue reading this forum as well as the others where I posed the same question. I want to thank all of you guys once again for your help with my question.
