I really like Bama as well, mainly based on Gene Stalling years where they played smash mouth football. Dam I still remember when they beat Miami in the Dome with Michael Irvine at WR. That was sweet. To bad I didnt have the balls to take them in that one, but that game sticks out in my head like it was yesterday. Just when I was becoming a Bama fan again, now that the Warriors beat them of course. Here they come and screw up my March Madness Brackets. I mean, I can handle that Stanford loss, but not Kentucky. Dam I had them in the Elite eight , Final Four , and Championship game, inwhich they would lose to UConn. Dam Blazers. Why , Why, Why. I am just hoping that Alabama doesnt beat Uconn, and UAB doesnt beat GT if they face off. Then we be ok. LOL.

2*West virginia/Rutgers under 128
West Virginia stays in the zone and likes to keep the game in the fifties and sixties when possible.Rutgers had an unusually hot night(55%) in the first meeting and as they are generally a poor shooting team,I feel the under is the play.

I thought I would write this game up as I am upgrading it to my strongest play.Add in the fact that I am a Bama fan and I feel I should present my reasons although I will not bet 25 cents on this team if my analysis points to the other side.I will be in Florida on "spring break" until Saturday,so if this pick crashes and burns,I will be back to take my medicine.

4*Alabama+1.5
I will use this posted line for,but am actually going to wait to place my bet as I expect the line to climb thanks to all of the ESPN experts.

Bilas has already penciled in Syracuse to face UConn.Katz and Gottlieb just picked Syracuse and Vitale says Bama cannot shoot.

The Orangemen have a tough zone defense and Alabama will need to shoot better from behind the arc than they did against Stanford.Let's be realistic-it is hard to believe Bama will shoot that poorly again. They are still the sixth best 3 point shooting team left in the tournament at 37.9%.Winston(40%),Pettway(37%),Thomas(44%), and Shelton(35%) are all dangerous from behind the arc and Winston has the ability to penetrate and create his own shot against any defense.

Warrick is a stud inside but he is only one guy.Stanford had multiple inside threats and subsequently killed Bama on the boards with their size.No such scenario here-Alabama should play even on the boards.

A key for Alabama will be the play of Chuck Davis. He is their only legitimate inside threat and will need to avoid the foul trouble that has plagued him recently.Warrick draws a lot of fouls,so do not be surprised to see Jermareo Davidson guard him some when Bama plays man.

As for the Orangemen, they will need a third scorer to emerge and give them at least 15.Pace is the most likely candidate. As for McNamara,he is Syracuse's only 3 point threat(Syracuse is the 2nd worst 3 point shooting team left behind Pitt).Alabama will try to stay on him and force someone else to step up.

Syracuse has the experience edge, but they seem to be looking ahead to UConn. It took Warrick all of 5 minutes to say as much after the Maryland win.Alabama is eager to be the first team in school history to advance beyond the sweet 16.Both teams have hit their stride late in the season.Syracuse is 9-2 over their last 11 while Bama is 8-3 with the 3 losses totaling 6 points.

Other picks:
3*Texas-2
3*Wake Forest+3

Will probably play UAB and OSU,but it is hard to play against Pitt.

Tournament record:
NCAA sides:6-2
NCAA 1st and 2nd half plays:0-3
NIT:0-2 I am glad I did not witness Hawaii.
