Well we start a new week of college football tonight, it has not been a very good 2 weeks, maybe the worst 2 weeks i have had in a long time in college, but as always w will post my plays and try to give some reasoning as to why i am betting these teams, that way people can maybe agree or maybe see something in there that is wrong, i always offer feedback on my threads, always like hearing what others think, and i am hoping that with a new week here, maybe we can not have these horrible beats to start the week, last week with the W.Virginia game was really bad, and then Colorado up 29-0 and loses, i mean just last week i had like 4 + games that should have been winners, and somehow late turned into losers , having teams driving to score and then turning it over, i mean just getting horrible bad breaks, that will happen, but not 4-5 times in a week, there are a couple of teams coming off bye weeks, Oklahoma and Texas, now there are a few who love Texas -22 at Houston, now it is 23, i mean they really like it, and i have mentioned that i like Oklahoma-19 at home over UCF, yes Houston is coming off the hail mary pass, i understand liking Texas here, it's at Houston but i think this place will be full of Texas fans, coming off a loss like they did, should be wanting to perform well, and Oklahoma at home coming off a bye week also, so is UCF, and not to forget Plumlee is very ? with a knee injury this week, and UCF has really been struggling, again that loss at home vs Baylor when they were up by almost 20 and lost out right, then go to Kansas st as a small dog, but then when Daniels was listed as out, UCF went from small dog to small favorite, and yet still lost BIG , when looking at UCF what have they really done this year, they have lost their last 3 games losing at kansas st by 13, losing at home to Baylor after being way up, losing at Kansas without Daniels by 29, before that they beat Villanova, before that they had a last second fg to beat Boise st, and before that they beat Kent st by 50, i really think Oklahoma -19 at home is just as good of a play as Texas is, maybe better, i just do not see what UCF will do at Oklahoma, the Total in this game is 65, that is a lot, i mean you have to think Oklahoma will have to score 45, and i think they can, but can UCF put up 20, if ya think UCF can score 20 i think the over could be a good play also, maybe look at the team total same with Texas, Houston will give up points, that Hail Mary pass by Houston just might have saved that coaches job, when WV scored with 12 seconds left you heard the announcers talking how that just might have cost him his job, if they lose that game, the Moral on that team would be very, low.....my point being is that if you like Texas why would you not think Oklahoma at home would be a good call also, and this line has not really moved at all, it shows it opened at 9am Sunday at 19.5 went to 19 then to 19.5 and has sat there, total of 65 so they are thinking 42-23, UCF has given 44 to kansas st, then 36 to Baylor, then 51 to Kansas, i see nothing that says Oklahoma could not get 45+ here, OVER TT if weather is good should be a good play

Okla-19 i like and also Texas ..will post when and if played

Over 51 -110
S.Alabama coming off a 55 pt game, and s.miss can give up a lot of points, i think s.miss can get 20, s.alabama has won all 3 meetings, s.alabama at home i just think will score some points, if they can get 40 great , but a 37-17 game makes sense too, 51 is too low to go under here i am sick of Unders, use to always be a OVER player so i am grabbing it, this line has dropped a bit, this line opened at S.alab -15.5 and 49.5 on the 13th, then when most lines do actually come out on the 15th it was 17 and 53, and it has went to 19 and 51 so they reset it at 4 points higher from 49 to 53 and raised it from 15.5 to 17 and thats the movement to now 19 and 51, and i really do want to play Liberty if i can get 13.5 without buying or 13 but it seems 14 14.5 is where it is going to be , why i went 1st half again here

I also do favor Alabama at home this week vs Tennessee, i mean Tenn really did not show me much on offense at all, neither did Texas AM but did feel A+M could have won that game, if no punt return they do think Alabama is going to like being back at home, i think giving 8 8.5 is fine here any thoughts???

well again laying 7.5 and you give up an easy 7 right away that you now have to overcome, and liberty goes right down and scores its always something, maybe they can play defense now and then score more

personally i am staying away from the USC play, unless i was sitting there when the line came out and got -3.5 or 4, i stay away when lines move 4 points in one day, that line opened like 11 am, and within hours it was 6 then by night it was 7, games like that tend to not cover, or maybe cover the opening, once i miss the sharp line i'd stay away unless i liked UTAH, and if Rising was playing i would take UTAH+7 , maybe the OVER, its 56 my view is if you really like USC what do you think the score will be? will USC win by 10-14?? will they hold UTAH under 20? will USC score 38? UTAH has a good defense, but the history of these 2 is shootout, but with no Rising that might change, But UTAH did finally put some points up last week, they put up 31 vs cal, that is the most they have scored all year, Meanwhile USC scored 20 the lowest they have scored all year, but again they gave up 48, UTAH can run the ball, i would almost think that if this stays UNDER Utah may cover, i mean 56 line is -7 so they are thinking 31.5-24.5 that would be the team totals right now, how would you play the team total???? Can Utah keep USC under 32?? if so can USC keep Utah under 25?? just another way to handicap a game , if i loved USC -6-7 i'd maybe go over their TT, Utah did lose at Oregon st 21-7, yes their offense was not good, but they did keep a decent team at home to 21, and the score was just 7-0 at half, down 14-0 Utah finally put together a 13 play drive then threw a INT at the 15 and Oregon st drove and scored , i just cannot figure out how this will be, i just know if Utah had their starter this would be diff, aand what i do not understand as far as the opening line?? i would have thought that if Cam Rising was starting, and let's say he had played already i would think that the opening line here would have been USC -3.5 -4 so with him out, and not have even played why is the opening number just 3.5-4 i mean no matter what ya think the people that set the lines and sell to the books are not stupid, ....espn has an article on line called the Bottom 10 after week 7, they have USC at #5 right ahead of akron and right below U.Mass.. article below

Here at Bottom 10 Headquarters, located somewhere in the Seattle crowd still echoing Desmond Howard's "Big Penix energy!" chants, we would like to be the first to officially welcome you to Week 8. The octagon, the octennial, octad, octet, octopus's garden of the 2023 college football season. That magical time of year when a slew of teams will achieve bowl eligibility every weekend and, more importantly in our world, bowl ineligibility.

What we're saying is that Week 8 is like the trees that surround us all this time of year. Some with leaves that are still green, while others have begun their transition into varying shades of autumnal hues, not unlike the uniform colors of your favorite college football teams.

EDITOR'S PICKs

But those trees ... yeah, that ain't our arbor. No, our timbers are the ones that can only be found either hidden in the back of the nursery or barely hanging on alongside some dicey exit off the New Jersey Turnpike. The tepid timbers that spurt out one leaf each spring that immediately turns black from carbon monoxide poisoning. With one shaky, featherless Cardinal, stuck up there on a twiggy limb with no way to get down, screaming, "It's Week 8?! Really? Has Ball State won a second game yet?!"

With apologies to Steve Young, Troy Aikman, Davey O'Brien, David Carr and Steve Harvey, here's the pre-Week 8 Bottom 10.

1. No-vada (0-6)

There are years when we enter Week 8 with significant debate about which teams should be atop the bottom of these standings. Like that time we had a Bottom 10 selection committee meeting and Charlie Weis got so angry during a discussion that he hurled a bag of garbage at Jerry Glanville and then realized it was actually a bag of cash he'd just received from Notre Dame and Kansas. But this year, it's a two-horse race seeing as how there are only two winless teams remaining among the ranks of FBS football. The Woof Pack just lost to former Bottom 10 stalwart-turned-Mountain West contender UNLV. And who are the other oh-fers?

i

2. Sam Houston We Have A Problem (0-6)

The Bearkats, who kouldn't kome out on top in a kontest with kohort Konference-USA newkomer kolleague New Mexiko State.

i

3. State of Kent (1-6)

Likewise, there has been much deliberation, disputation, argumentation and all sorts of other 'ations about which member of the MAC Nation should be in this ranking location. Then the State of Kent made a state-ment on the very first play of its game with the EMU Emus.

i

4. Akronmonious (1-6)

In case you were wondering, and we most definitely were, Akron hosts Kent on Nov. 1, the night after Halloween. It's the college football equivalent of having to settle for all the penny candy wrapped in wax paper and boxes of raisins left in the bottom of your trick-or-treat bag after you've eaten all the good stuff.

i

5. Trojan Man! (6-1)

After its spokesperson lost 48-20 at Notre Dame while throwing three interceptions, that national hamburger chain with all the commercials featuring USC's quarterback has a new special for this week only (they hope). After you order your food, they throw it at you from the drive-in window but miss your car by six feet and it gets run over by a passing truck.

i

6. UMess (1-7)

The good news? The Minuetmen received $1.6 million to travel to Unhappy Valley and act as Penn State's warmup act before the Nittany Lions face Ohio State. The bad news? After losing 63-0, UMass will spend most of that money on Band-Aids and ibuprofen.

i

7. Charlotte 1-and-5'ers (1-5)

The Niners lost 14-0 to Navy, both touchdowns coming on plays of 60-plus yards in the second half. Now they take on another seafaring American Athletic Conference of American Athletics opponent in ...

i

8. EC-Yew (1-5)

... the Pirates, who seemingly haven't had a scoring play of 60-plus yards since back in the days when Charlotte head coach Biff Poggi still wore clothing with sleeves.

i

9. Baller State (1-6)

This spot came down to either the Cardinals and Southern Missed. But the Golden Eagles had a game scheduled for Tuesday night against the South Alabama Redundancies, just as we were voting on this week's standings and honestly, we were too lazy to wait for the result. Also, Brett Favre's lawyers said if we put USM in here for another week, they would sue us and use any winnings on volleyball gear.

i

10. Rod Tidwell's Alma Mater (1-6)

With all these Pac-12 teams winning big games and producing Heisman candidates and posting gigantic television ratings, it's good to see Arizona State producing a weekly slate of unexpected and disappointingly close losses. Hey, someone had to uphold Pac-12 traditions, right?

Waiting List: U-Can't, Yew-VA, You A Bee?, all Big Ten schools in Indiana, Michigan State Little Brothers, Whew Mexico, blowing a Prime 29-0 lead.

Football - NCAA - New Mexico State vs UTEP - Spread | 309 New Mexico State -2 -129 buying -1 For Game | 10/18/2023 | 09:00:00 PM (EST) | Pending

Last week UTEP started out real fast vs FIU, they scored 3 str touchdowns on big plays, they had their 1st drive which was a nice drive, then they had a 1 play 60 yd td, then a 3 play drive for a td, got up 21-0 , then 24-7 at half, but after the 1st qtr they only scored 6 points and FIU really could not get anything going, in the 4th qtr they had back to back turnovers when it was 24-14 which killed any hope, New Mex st has looked pretty good i think, did not know much about them but have seen them play twice now, they have won 2 in a row both at home, and that win for UTEP was their 1st since they beat Incarnate word , these 2 play every year with UTEP winning the last 2, they won last year 20-13 but they were a 17 pt favorite,
NM st is avg 7 yards a play this year and UTEP is giving up 6 yds a play, NM st is averaging 25 pts a game and UTEP is giving up over 28 pts, UTEP is averaging just 16 pts a game and NM st is giving up 23 pts a game
also NM st is avg almost 6 yds a rush and Utep gives up 5.2 yds a rush and Utep is avg just 3.3 yds a rush and NMST gives up just over 4 yds, ...NMST is avg almost 9 yds a pass and utep gives up 8 yds a pass play, utep is avg 7.8 and NMST gives up 7....BUT UTEP really helped their avg last game as they were only 12/18 passing but averaged 15 yds a pass play, NMST is a much better fg kicking team at 81% to 50% for utep, ....NOW to any ATS as a fav NMST is 3-1 ats , and 3-1 str up, and are 4-2-1 ats over all while UTEP is 2-5 ats all totals point to an under as far as ats records , but i hate unders

i cannot bet SH anymore, this team is bad, yes they are playing a team that is not really good, but they are as good as SH and i'd take 5 here, might tease them to 11.5 with Alabama-1.5 i do like Bama this week at home, i just did not like how Tenn looked last week, i mean they should have lost that game, if they do not pin that punt at the 1 and get a punt return of 38 yds for a score, they do not win that game, and tex am did not play well either yet had the lead for a lot of the game, Alabama at home will be much diff,

Here is what is sad, You have 2 very bad football teams in FIU and SH playing, and if you bet SH in the end you are begging for the other team to score just so you have a chance at winning...lol thats how bad that team is, FIU had the ball twice i think in the red zone and got 0 pts actually FIU should have won this by 7 i said i would not bet this team again, if they cover you were VERY, VERY lucky it sure was not handicapping that won it...lol

LIKE I SAID FIU should have won by 7 but they win by 6 pissed i did not bet them str up now i need bama-2 for the teaser damnit when you have 2 bad teams take the points if its close to a td

man we are seeing some really bad football teams during the week, UTEP is another really bad team, they had one good qtr last game, NM st was an easy play, yes it was 7-7 t half but ya just knew NM st was the side, feel for the people that bet the over 2nd half as it got pushed up a point, they should have won, the whole 4th qtr just needing a fg or safety for the win and nothing, NM st stopped trying, and UTEP just could not even get in the red zone 1 time bad won football again YEAAAA and hit both baseball plays tonight too, just keep pluggin, every win is needed , need a good weekend for sure , got a play tomorrow JM-4 line dropped it's 3.5 now buy to 3 might look at something else, i think JM was my 1st bet ?...nope UNLV-7 was but still like it ...JM is 3-0 ats in the conf so far while Marshall is 0-2 ats in the conf, Marshall as a dog are 0-2 ats also, as far as the o/u JM is 2-0 OVER as an away favorite, and 2-1 away, and marshall is 2-0 OVER as a dog this year, 2-0 in conf, and are 0-2 str up as a dog, this O/u opened at 52.5 and stayed there for a couple of days then yesterday it started dropping, now it is 49.5...it does not show any rain on the hourly forecast, till about maybe 5 am friday and thats a 20% chance , it shows 60 degrees and cloudy wind about 8 mph so nothing to slow anyone down, kind of favor the over i think

well even though the o/u has been dropping i am going to go over 49 in the JM/Marshall game, Marshall has had some very high scoring games last few weeks and i know JM can score, Marshall has given up 35, 48, 41 last 3 games...JM has only given up over 23 pts in 2 games this year , both were on the road too, at Virginia and at Utah st where they gave up 35 to Virginia and 38 to Utah st, marshall has scored at least 21 points in every game this year and have scored over 40 in 2 of the last 3, i like JM tonight, i am thinking this will be a 34-27 type of game , might look at TT too, they should be about 26.5 for JM and 23.5 for marshall

OVER 49 JM/Marshall buy half -120 1 unit
