Mo Williams, who has battled leg, groin, and hip injuries all season, said before Friday's game that if his teammates weren't so banged up, he would be shutting himself down for a while. "I'm beat up, man," Williams said. "This is a year for me, physically, that I've got to fight through. I've never faced injuries all year long. I haven't felt good all year." The report is ambivalent in nature, for example stating that Byron Scott "recognizes that everybody is hurting," minimizing the impact of Williams' statements about a shutdown. Amir Johnson (back) will play and start on Friday against the Pistons. He has been a shaky option for a number of reasons this season, but also because of this particular injury. Jan. 14 - 6:27 p.m. ET Source: Matt Devlin on Twitter
Tyreke Evans (ankle) and Francisco Garcia (undisclosed) will play against the Knicks on Friday. Evans missed three games and may be a bit rusty, but will be a difficult guy to sit in what figures to be a shootout. Garcia ran into teammate DeMarcus Cousins on Wednesday and little else is known about what ails him, and is just a low-end option with Evans back in the lineup. Michael Beasley (ankle) practiced fully on Friday, but coach Kurt Rambis said he's still "not right" and he's officially questionable for Saturday's game against the Magic. Beasley said that "he's still not 100 percent," and that he'll be doing around the clock treatment to try to get onto the court. At this point in time, both him and Rambis will be looking to see how his ankle responds to treatment before making a decision either way. . Jan. 14 - 6:06 p.m. ET Source: NBA.com
