This sounds ridiculous... and seems desperate
Totally agree. This has got to be the dumbest idea that a pro sports league has done that I can remember.

The NBA is desperate and the interest continues to decline.

I love this tournament. From a gambling perspective, I think it means teams, especially the good teams, are more likely to give their best effort

I think picking the NBA in the regular season is so hard because teams can and do play soft. I usually stay away until the playoffs. With exceptions of course

I can see it would probably be decent from a gambling perspective. Other than that it seems like a desperate attempt to strum up more interest. In that case, why not shorten the season? Each game would mean more and the load management nonsense would decrease.

The NBA has fallen off so much from the golden age of the 80s/90s. I used to love the NBA during that time and now it is a non factor. Zero interest in watching or gambling on it but to each their own.
