Leadership matters

Bingo. Immeasurable. Not in the stat book.

Avocado Fruit thinks being a good point guard means scoring. Doesn't take into account assists, raising the play of those around him, defense, leadership, mentorship, coach on the floor, etc. And what Paul does everywhere he goes. WIN. All of those things measure the effectiveness of a point guard.

The one stat that absolutely proves Paul's influence on a team? How good was the team before he arrived? How good were they when he left? Everywhere he has been, he's been +++++ in wins while he's there compared to the year before and the year after.

Go look that up. Its amazing.

When did I say being a point guard means scoring a lot? Those players i listed are all better all-around players than CP3

Based on your description on what you think a great player is, how are not a huge fan of LeBron James? The biggest gap in win percentage for before/after a player arrives is by far LeBron James.

"defense, assists, leadership, mentorship, coach on the floor"....sounds a lot like LeBron And unlike CP3, LeBron actually has led his team to the promised land.

CP3's leadership is questionable. The consistent shortcomings in the playoffs, being absent in big moments, choking etc. makes you have to at least question it. Having an outspoken, "tough guy" personality doesn't make you a great leader.

There's a reason he's been traded several times. If he was so great then why has he gotten traded away so much?

I'm willing to accept he is a great leader because the majority of his teammates say so. He did have post-season surgery on his wrist so I'll also accept that was an issue late in the playoffs. With that, was hoping the Suns would pick up a player in free agency, but at this point they didn't have a draft pick, lost Torrey Craig and only picked-up Larry Shamet who is decent, but if he was on the team vs. Milwaukee what difference would that have made? I do think Cam Johnson makes a big jump next year on a path to be a Chris Middleton type/level player.

They did sign Javale McGee to back up Ayton at the 5. That was a big hole that was exposed against Milwaukee. Yeah, they lost Saric which hurt the size of the bench. But Saric was often taken advantage of by larger 5's. And PHX would often get abused on the boards when he was in there.

I'd expect them to add 3 more lower end guys before it's done. Probably another 5, another wing, and either a PG or combo guard that can handle the ball behind Paul and Payne.

I'd also expect Cam Johnson to make a big jump. Bridges should continue to develop and evolve as well.
