NASCAR will not deduct points after the next event has started for an infraction in a previous race. All penalty points are deducted for the race in which the infraction occurred in the next few days thereafter, Thus is why the official results are not determined until Wednesday so that NASCAR has had the time to review evidence. As well, drivers have until Monday evening to file any grievances they may have for that weekends race which may result in points deduction. Championship points are exactly as race points. There is no difference.

My decision is that heartman will receive the $100 prize. It is not the correct call and is in violation of the intent of the contest rules, but I do not need a $100 and I refuse to argue it.

IN THE FUTURE, THE RULE IS AND WILL BE THAT PENALTY POINTS WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOUR POINTS FOR THAT DRIVER AND IT WILL REFLECT ON THE WEEKLY STANDINGS.

I have been in this pool for 5 years now. I know how it is supposed to work. I didn't wake up mid February and figure all this out.

Congrats heartman. Your account should be credited tomorrow.

Heartman: I cannot believe you really think you should win. A good example of why you are wrong is how CDM sports, the best fantasy sports busines out there, handled the situation. "If your driver is penalized by NASCAR, your team will lose the corresponding Nextel Cup points. Once NASCAR subtracts the points from a driver's Championship Points, CDM Fantasy Sports will subtract the corresponding points from the driver's Racing Points for the race that the infraction occurred." They came out with standings on Monday and then adjusted them Wednesday. It is obvious that the General meant for this exact same method of handling it as CDM. I guess if you need a hundred bucks that bad, then go ahead and be a jackass. I would have a hard time living with myself though if I were like that.

Few comments here. First of all, I am in the contest as well. Not doing too bad so far seeing as though I couldnt pick a driver out of a lineup of 4 people with 3 of them being women.

Now having said that, WHAT THE **** is this shit about? I mean we are only talking about a $100 prize here?

By the way General, when is the deadline to trade drivers this week?

OK since this isn't going away too easily, I will add my 2 cents.

Looking at Nascar.com right now I see no change in official driver points in the Bristol race. I am assuming they have been deducted from DE Jr's championship total. So from that perspective only, I can see where Heartman is coming from.

But this is only my second contest ever and I have never been involved in any kind of fantasy league either. Therefore I wouldn't have a clue as to how this would or should be scored from that perspective.

If I were in Heartman's position, I would probably take umbrage with the initial ruling. That being said, I would allow for my position to possibly be wrong in the spirit and intent of this contest.

Furthermore I would take into account the reaction from my fellow participants and offer to put the $100 in question into the winners share at contest end which the now declared winner of last week's race has a good shot at.

Last week's prize is by now tainted no matter who it goes to. I would not accept it under these circumstances. But I am not Heartman and as I said I do at least see where he is coming from. So I can't come down too hard, if at all, on his case in this matter.

I must agree there.....i didnt even know what was going on.....and all this over 100.00 and from a poster i havent even seen post before.....i dont see any reason for the posts insulting other posters in the contest...

I had to edit one, and i see general did too, not the way to win your argument in my opinion.....if 100.00 is that big of a deal, i wonder why you paid to enter?...oh wait this was a "FREE" contest....
