But it’s clear players who are playing should use their platforms to bring change in situations that need more attention. That’s very clear now that it works. This story is evidence that it works. After Kaeperknick sacrificing himself, Bubba Wallace can make a stand and say “wtf is this garbage it shouldn’t be here” and NASCAR having to act.

Players using their platform WORKS.

Never going to just “shutup and dribble.”

If people are upset about the confederate flag being removed from nascar, the solution is simple. Take their money someplace else, quit watching it and find other things to do. If enough of their fans quit, nascar will notice the lower revenue. People should have abandoned most of corporate america and all the major sports leagues years ago.

Weigh which is more important and if it's the flag, then they can find something else to do.

Personally, especially at the local level, I make efforts to spend my money with people, businesses and organizations I'm more politically and socially aligned toward.

Nascar has caved to political pressure. Nascar also is a business which happens to have a large southern, white male fan base. Many of them probably aren't happy about the confederate flag being banned. The fans' best form of protest is to no longer monetarily support nascar. If they aren't willing to do that, then they might as well take a knee with kap. Nascar's stance is a direct way of saying fuck all of you white male southerners and your flag too.

I cannot believe NASCAR caved so quickly, so easily.
Their fan base will diminish significantly. With the Chinese Virus still affecting everything it will be difficult to really know for awhile, though.

Over a Confederate flag missing you wish ill will towards a sport? Wow.

Almost as bad as roll tide and Michael and Enflameo and others rooting against the United States Women’s soccer team in the World Cup because ONE player said something about Trump

Bubba Wallace used his platform to say “this shouldn’t be here. Get this garbage out.”

And they did. Mad respect

It is wholesale blackmail, it is running rampant.
Organizations are living in fear...
People are being threatened. Companies are being threatened. Companies THEN threaten to pull their sponsorship unless for example NASCAR or whoever does what they demand.
The larger the entity, the weaker they are to fight... no one wants to be accused, falsely, of racism, especially now, it'll be on TV all day and all night.
The NBA and NFL are the most vulnerable, have mostly African athletes, so they have no chance to deal with the brainwashed pissed off Africans if they want to have a season. So they cave, succumb, and will kneel away.

The players wouldn't mean shit if the fans forced the owners to take a stand against them.

Fans and their consumer dollars are who should be directing owners' decisions. Fans taking little or no action really shows how they lack understanding or are just too big of cowards to push back. Quit buying Nike, cancel season tickets, quit buying league apparel. If that doesn't work, then fans collectively need to quit supporting league sponsors' products and services. Pepsi, coke, ford, frito lay, etc.

There are hundreds of thousands of capable players who at most are a half step slower than the current players. All of them are easily replaceable.

I personally dont really like NASCAR, find it boring. I also dont care about the confederate flag. What gets me, is that they caved for literally nothing more than bowing to the mob, for no reason. Who really fucking cares about a flag? Who looks at it and feels oppressed or victimized for seeing it?

Who really gives a fuck about a flag? Seriously?? Want to fly a flag, thats their right isnt it?

Hard not to notice the irony of kneeling is disrespecting our flag but flying the confederate flag seem to have much less of a disrespect problem with these seem people. The confederates were traitors and wanted to own other Americans as their property. Nothing signifies more disrespect to our country than that flag.

Same with confederate statues. Perhaps we should have left the statues of Saddam Hussein standing in Iraq with it being their history and all.

That is ridiculous, The South in The Civil War was not as you represent it, was far more complex than that, and there is no way you can compare The Rebels to Saddam Husein. I have always lived in a northern state by the way.

Seems the Yankees had no problem with the Flag or Statues of Lee as they let them build them
