Im am listing movies that legit scared or disturbed me at the time of initial watching....how I would react to them now may be different

Audition
The Ring (japanese version)
The Exorcist
The Omen

Audition is a very creepy film. It was the first Japanese "horror" film I ever saw.

Subsequently I viewed 3 more Korean films, each by Korean director Park Chan-Wook:

Oldboy. A man is kidnapped and kept prisoner in a single room for 15 years....then abruptly released,
only to be told he must find his captor in five days.

Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance. A kidnapping for ransom goes wrong; the child dies accidentally. The grieving
father moves heaven & earth to seek justice....only to discover that revenge is a two-headed snake.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. A woman is framed for murder and serves a long prison term. Upon release
she must re-unite with her only child and take revenge against the real killer.

I Saw The Devil. Another Japanese film. The "hero"/protaganist in Oldboy is a serial killer in this movie. After
killing a young woman, he is relentlessly pursued by her policeman fiance'.

All four of these films are in English subtitles, and they're engrossing enough that it doesn't even matter.

See 'em. You'll like 'em! :toast:
