Where are you getting your weather info ... very mild winter here and been in the 60's and some 70's the last ten + days here. Hoping, your futures info is much more adroit.

would love to play this futures bet, but 100 a barrel in the next 12 months with the huge supply glut there is right now plus Iran entering the market for the first time in years.....i don't know. i think oil will be low for the next 2 to 3 years. hope your right!

Kinzster, I hit both Amgen and Genentech back in the day, made a killing on both. I'm strictly oil field now, plus some start-ups of my own doing, but BOL with AEZS!

i appreciate the info and responses. not quite sure what i was looking at in some of your graphs, but essentially crude is at 2009 lows. why march of 2017 futures? why not spend the extra $1 per future and extend the window out to Dec 2017?

You could do that but I've got 100K barrels tied up now and that's for a year, I've played options all my life and never went more than 3 months let alone a year. I'll give you a wild card could be Iran since we cut them lose, but their production was never really that large to begin with. What might be the bigger card is ISIS. We're taking them out left and right, but that means they gotts move to the next "gas station." What are you paying a gallon today? We've jumped over dime in one week here in Charlotte. Tulsa went from a buck 15 to 1.35 in the past couple of weeks. I'm not saying this is a one month play, but I'm damn good with a year. I'll have that intel from Cushing soon enough.

CW, this next one might be a little hard to digest, just ask questions, I'm here to answer. What's gonna happen is the refineries will be running the stock down this month. They all do their maintenance turn-arounds in April and May so they gotta get the gasoline made and stock it. That was another rational for my buying the March contracts. Like any options play, it's a gamble, but I'm comfortable with my position.
